Years ago there was a bar in downtown Corning called the "Glory Hole". Just sayin'.

They claimed it was a reference to the Corning Glassworks furnaces, of course.

I don’t recall that, but I may have entered the “Corning Ballet” once or twice in my younger days.

There was the “How Gay” tavern in Watkins Glen too. But that was before the word had been co-opted by the homos. And yes, “glory hole” is indeed the name of the hole in the furnace from which a glass blower gathers molten glass.
