Four year ago, this was a murder-suicide. The incumbent Republican Senator distanced herself from Trump. As a consequence, some of her voters didn't vote for the Orangeman. But, also as a consequence, some of the Orangeman's voters didn't vote for her. While the Republican candidate for Governor won by 2.3 points, Trump lost by 0.3, and Ayotte lost by 0.1.

In the RealClearPolitics poll, at this point in 2016, Trump was down 10 points. Then suddenly, at the end, the race was a near dead-heat. Trump never believed the polls, and repeatedly returned to the state. It was part of his final campaign swing.

The fundamentals argue that New Hampshire is a swing state. So, the early polls in this state don't mean much.

The Motto of NH is LIVE FREE OR DIE.

Apparently from this poll, many voters have chosen DIE...

Does it REALLY matter? Look buttheads: The only thing that matters is if we can beat Shaheen for the senate seat. We came 600 votes short because not enough of us showed up for Ayotte. That’s a 6 year seat. Rino or not it doesn’t matter it’s our fault.

The Motto of NH is LIVE FREE OR DIE.

That's only the first part. The second sentence is "And never tell a stranger calling you what you really think."

Polls in New Hampshire are difficult to interpret. Most of us get so many polling calls that we don't answer them, or we give them nonsense answers. The result is a lot of noise and very little actual data.

The biggest challenge conservatives face in our state are college students who come from all over the country and can register to vote here and vote on election day. Liberal students from states like California or New York intentionally chose to vote here in New Hampshire to affect the outcome of our elections.

The second biggest challenge is the ongoing arrival of people from liberal high tax states who come to New Hampshire to retire and bring their liberal ideas with them.

Ayotte did everything she could to lose the election. Going against your own party's presidential candidate is a formula for losing. Had Ayotte won she may well have been just another anti-Trump RINO in the Romney/Collins club.

It is my understanding that New Hampshire has been invaded by liberals from Massachusetts because New Hampshire is largely a tax free state. The creeps from Massachusetts bring with them what are called “Masshole values”.

I despise Shaheen but Ayotte was backstabbing viper. I don’t expect miracles or perfection from politicians, but I prefer my enemies to be in the Democrat party, not in my party talking out of both sides of her mouth. If she had simply acted and voted like an unashamed Republican, and supported the Republican candidate for President she would have won. It’s not anyone’s fault but hers.

I go by yard signs. Just in my travels around Southern NH over the last two months I’ve seen a ton of Trump/Pence sings and only one, small Biden sign almost hiding under a bush.

Just for reference I’m in Rockingham county, which is basically the Republican backbone of the state.

Kelly Ayotte was STUPID to allow herself to be taken under the wing of the John McCain/ Lindsey Graham duo and be influenced by them. And THAT sealed what was to eventually become the end of a promising career in Congress.

Where is she now? WTF knows and WTF cares.

NH hasn’t been Red in years. Too many leftist democRATs from Massachusetts have escaped over the border and have polluted New Hampshire.

Back in the mid to late 1970’s New Hampshire was a Conservative state.Since then the Massholes have moved in and changed that state too the worst.

I hope those poll’s are inaccurate.

NH is becoming more and more blue every year. I don’t expect Trump to flip it this year since it is more blue now than 4 years ago. Shaheen will win without much effort. Pity.

“Where is she now? WTF knows and WTF cares.”

Kelly’s doing just fine. It pays to be a senator:

Ayotte has been named to several corporate boards of directors, including Caterpillar Inc., News Corp., BAE Systems, Boston Properties, Blink Health, Bloom Energy, and Blackstone Group.

I live in NH and can tell you that those poll numbers sound about right. The “Live Free or Die” mentality left this state long ago ... we can’t even request HQZ if you get the virus up here ... we would have to go to Mass or Maine to get it! What a friggen joke this state has turned out to be.

When I moved here in the earl 80’s, this state was a staunch conservative state. Repubs held the House, Senate, and Governor’s seat. We had an all Repub US Congress representation.

Then the Massholes moved in, the New Yorkers moved in, the “you name it” moved in for the low taxes (no Income or Sales tax) and brought their political voting history with them. Yes they $hit in their own nest and we all paid the price.

Now the state is all Rats except for the Governor who I hope wins reelection but I’m not holding my breath.

Once Same Day voting and allowing out of state College kids to vote along with all the transplants, the state went belly-up.

I can’t wait to get down to my 10 acres in Florida ... it can’t come soon enough, but need a few more years to pack away more $$$ to do it. I just hope my family can hold on long enough.

I commute 50 miles to work in Lynn Massachusetts each day. There are two Biden signs on my commute. There are hundreds of Trump signs and flags and hundreds more US flags. We know no one voting Democrat flies a US flag. I’ve seen more Hillary and Warren bumper stickers than any other Democrat and most bumper stickers are Trump. Where I work, union workers have hung Trump flags from the rafters. All the talk is about Trump. There are lies, damn lies, and polls.
