Wait, Did the DNC Really Cut 'Under God' Out of the Pledge of Allegiance?!

Democrats opening at least two caucus meetings during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) cut “under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance, according to videos captured by CBN News’s David Brody. Both the Muslim Caucus meeting and the LGBT Caucus meeting began with truncated versions of the pledge.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” delegate A.J. Durrani said, opening the DNC’s “Muslim Delegates Assembly.”

According to Brody, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and DNC Chairman Tom Perez spoke at the caucus meeting.

A speaker opened the “LGBTQ Caucus Meeting” with a similar omission of “under God,” but his version proved more pronounced. After holding up three flags — an American flag, an LGBT rainbow flag, and a transgender flag, the presenter said, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, [nods during pause] indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

NEW VIDEO: At the #DemocraticNationalConvention , LGBT Caucus purposely leaves out the words, "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. Watch. This now makes twice that two key constituencies of the Democratic Party have done this.

They could have gone back to the original August 1892 version:

"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands,
one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

They choose instead to use the 1923 - 1954 version:

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

The real surprise is that the CommiecRAT party used any version at all.

Yes, I believe “under God” was added in the mid 50’s. And atheists everywhere want it removed, which they did.

They could have gone back to the original August 1892 version:
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands,
one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Well, the earlier version would actually be more accurate for them!

More appropriate and perhaps even accurate when they nod their head towards “my flag” - while holding three up, of which they only respect the LGBTQWERTY totem - and yes, deliberately leaving out the God they hate.

Now, the international-globalist wing of the social-democrat-communist party might even have problems with that - but they could hold up the UN flag, the EU flang, or a DisneyWorld Mouseketeer hat.

Me too, I did not like it when they added more words which I had to memorize.

The would have needed to change it to “...to my Flag and the DEMOCRACY for which it stands....” Then again they don’t have any allegiance to anything but themselves anyway so they may as well not have bothered. Did they perhaps kneel when the said it? I didn’t watch any of it so.........

There was also the pledge where the reciter added a postscript. They said “under God” but at the end the last clause was “with liberty and justice for all SOMEDAY.”

"I learned it that way as a yout myself. Yeah, I'm old enough." 🙌 So am I and I remember when the "under God" was added in 1954. In was in the 6th grade at the time and at that time we had a Bible reading by one of the students each day. The would either read the 23rd Psalm or recite the The Lords Prayer after we recited the Pledge. What seems strange while recalling this is that it took place in Northern NJ a State I lived in from 1949 thru 1995 before bailing out after I retired. Best move I ever made.

It threw off the cadence for me and I still today stumble a bit when I get there. NOT that I have a problem with it. But, as rip van biden might say: “Come on maaaannnnnn. It’s only two words.” LOL!

When are we gonna stop being shocked by this? They do it to get a rise out of conservatives! Let's ignore them from now on!

Same with the kneelers, let's stop being outraged and just stop watching sports!

Good on ya. Glad you got out. I mean some parts of the state are gorgeous. The politics, not so much. My kin folk all came from Greene county New York on the Hudson River. They’re spinning about 2,500 rpm as to what’s become of this country they fought for. Me too except I’m not spinning yet.
