During "the troubles" in Northern Ireland, there was a lot of vehicle vs vehicle action between the IRA and SAS. Shooting, crashing, etc. The SAS guys learned to wear eye protection and thick leather gloves. If the windshield is shot, the safety glass will hang in big sheets, blocking the driver's view. The SAS man riding shotgun would have to clear the broken windshield glass for the driver, hence the thick leather gloves.
So, if you really expect trouble, eye, ear, and even hand protection are all called for.
And if you are ever being followed by a car full of suspicious types, and you see them putting on ear pro, glasses and gloves, watch out!
See the ear pro at 21, also good to have handy in the car.
Excellent advice. We will add to our vehicle load outs this week.
Thanks.

Except I would not say a word to anybody but my lawyer.
I might suggest installing a big red panic button thats instantly available that number one will lock the doors,
Secondary functions could include horn or passive defense like windshield washer pumos that spray repellant to even strips of innocent looking chrome bling that is connected to a cattle prod.
Duck hit the gas and mow them all down
Travel in two vehicles and when stopped, threatened and attacked.
Call friend... have them come down parallel street and stop 50 ft from cross street intersection. Chevron his vehicle , dismount and get his camera with a long lens out to photograph the protestors.
Chevron your vehicle dismount with your camera and long lens..... and now you have intersecting fields of photography.
Start at furthest person holding anything that looks like a weapon and just work your way up taking photographs until you run out of film.
Thanks for that critically correct adonishment

Interesting bit I got off a tactical driving video:
Make sure you can see the bottom of the tire of the car in front of you. If you can, you can easily turn in either direction and floor it, and not have to worry about hitting that car.
Try it out slowly when parked, you’ll see. It works.
I think even that’s too close, depending on your hood geometry. I just think 15-20 feet.
What is this “film” you speak of?
A bit awkward for those of us who are frequently three or four hours from home.....sometimes days away.
Its like 35mm film but in a 5.56mm variant.
Well then reverse and avoid confrontation, but if attacked a truck is a good escape vehicle but realize it offers no protection from bullets.
Self-ping for later edification.
The got a confrontation in Austin. The AntiFa LARPer FAFO from a Fort Hood sergeant out making some extra money Ubering or Lyfting. Said sergeant has experience in the Middle East two-way range and didn’t take kindly to an illegal roadblock being enforced with an AK, and took care of business.
