When someone has warrants out for their arrest, it’s a totally new game.
It’s a Criminal - and one with great motivation to escape. Many Cops are killed by those wanting to escape Capture and their date with Justice.

I believe that all cops should assume the person they are detaining have the potential to kill if not careful whether they are wanted or not.
That’s very true. When they know there’s a warrant on them, they do flip out.
To me it looked like this guy had a knife or some small weapon in his waistband, pulled it out and shifted it to the opposite hand and then ran for the car because he wanted to drop the weapon inside. Not a rational decision, but he didn’t look like a rational person, and I believe he thought that if he could drop the weapon on the seat, they wouldn’t get him on weapons charges.
A small hooked knife, what we used to call a linoleum knife, is apparently legal for felons there, and i thought that was what he was carrying. Or it actually may have been a gun, but in any case, to me it looked like he was trying to get rid of it by putting it on the seat. There were three children in the backseat, so I don’t think he as planning on attacking the cops.
These things happen very fast, And the press is there immediately to distort them and whip up hysteria.
