Wisconsin Lutheran College said Vice President Mike Pence won't serve as the school's commencement speaker Thursday after "careful consideration of the escalating events in Kenosha."
The college, which is in Milwaukee, said it has chosen Rev. Mark Jeske of St. Marcus Lutheran Church as a substitute speaker for Saturday's event.
During his acceptance speech Wednesday night, Pence made reference to the unrest in Kenosha.
"Let me be clear: the violence must stop whether in Minneapolis, Portland, or Kenosha," Pence said. "Too many heroes have died defending our freedoms to see Americans strike each other down. We will have law and order on the streets of this country for every American of every race and creed and color."

so....Wisconsin Lutheran College does not want the violence to stop?
Lutherans have been Laodicean for some time.
Hardly surprising..
Cowards
Moral cowards taking a knee to rioters out of fear disguised as sympathy
Pence probably dodged a bullet having his appearance cancelled. Figuratively and maybe literally.
I am a recovering former member of the ELCA church.
The rainbow flag went up on the front of the building and I never went back.
Time to close the college and send everyone home.
Maybe they could move the campus to another country.
I never heard of this college until now. It is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, a splinter group which has mostly been on the conservative side. But who knows what it stands for now.
Wisconsin Lutheran College is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and located on the border of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. It has an enrollment of about 1,200 students. Any time you see the word Evangelical tied to Lutheran run for the hills.
But these are Wisconsin Synod Lutherans—not ELCA.
I guess that anyone can lose courage in the face of the Marxist mob, whether Orthodox, Roman Catholic, conservative Lutheran, or anything else!!!!
It’s going to take some doin’ Keeping America - America. I never thought I would be a witness to all of this mayhem and evil. The churches, colleges, universities are coming out of the closet. They need to revisit what Jesus says in Revelation about the churches. All church members would do well to reevaluate their churches’ mission, their beliefs, etc. If they don’t line up explicitly with the Bible, then head for the door and don’t look back.
Wow, I hope they have not gone full wuss like the ELCA.
I have seen numerous church related colleges here in the Minneapolistan area turn into full liberal indoctrination centers over the years.
They don’t want to be burned out by white BLM thugs.
And in so doing they have reduced themselves to a very Junior college with no moral standing in the religious community.
Move it up the road about 30 miles to Concordia University Wisconsin. It’s a Lutheran Missouri Synod university and would be happy to host it.
Great school and very conservative.
Not so. "Evangelical" is a great word, and historically it has been used in reference to Lutherans, the good ones. However, when used in reference to the loony-left and misnamed ELCA, then, yes, run for the hills.
The WELS is generally a conservative synod. Why they are uninviting VP Pence is beyond me (I am LCMS). But I can tell you, 90+% of WELS clergy and members will be voting for Trump/Pence in November.
Was that the decision of their lesbian bishop?
Not all Lutherans but I agree most of them. In fact the ELCA is not Laodicean it is flat out apostate
They are afraid of the BLM and ANTIFA mobs. They dont want their campus burned to the ground. Its only a short drive from Kenosha to Milwaukee.
WELS is staunchly conservative it has been.... I wonder what is up with this individual college
