Glenn Beck issues heartfelt apology to President Trump: 'He proved me wrong at almost every turn'
The Blaze ^ | AUGUST 28, 2020 | Sarah Taylor

Posted on 08/28/2020 7:30:06 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

TheBlaze founder and 2020 Radio Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Beck issued a public apology to President Donald Trump for doubting him in 2016.

In a series of tweets, the talk-show host wrote, "I am feeling so humbled this week. I feel truly horrible for the things I said and believed in 2016 about @realDonaldTrump. I believed the worst politically, which he proved me wrong at almost every turn. In the most dramatic cases (life/Israel/China/authoritarian)."

Beck pointed out that the president deserves to be praised for his handling of the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to researchers at Johns Hopkins University, the virus has infected at least 5,889,652 Americans at the time of this writing, and has caused 181,186 deaths.

"I expected @realDonaldTrump to take control federally at the first opportunity. Here we are in a massive crisis. Bush 'violated the free market to save the free market.' Trump could have violated federalism to 'save federalism' yet he has stood firm through COVID."

Here we are in a massive crisis… https://t.co/HN8bqJPHs4 — Glenn Beck (@Glenn Beck)1598577580.0 He added that his erroneous belief that the president didn't care about Americans poisoned his temperament toward Trump and perhaps affected the president's children themselves. "But let me cut to the chase," he continued. "I believed he actually didn't care about people. When @realDonaldTrump called me after my fathers [sic] death, I assigned the motive to politics — AND SAID SO. What haunts me this week is how my words must have hit his children."

Beck, who spoke with Donald Trump Jr. last week, said that he felt compelled to issue an apology to the president's son for his stance in 2016.

So, when you saw you were wrong 3+ years ago, you chose to sit on your apology?

You are one screwed up man, Glenn.

A couple of Freepers told me Mark Levin has done the same.

Anyone here who heard his apology?

Good that he will vote for Trump and perhaps bring peeps along with him.

It’ll take at least a decade before I ever listen to him/ pay attention to him again.

He’s a “looser”.

Remind me: Did Beck anoint Cruz or did Cruz anoint Beck?

Both Beck and Levin need to atone for their past sins and GET OUT THE VOTE for Trump. Now.

I'm petty enough that I can be like Beck and assume the worst of someone. A never Trumper who is also an arch opportunist coming forward and declaring how he's all in seems, to me, like he felt his bank account hurting from his resistance and so he's switching sides.

Sorry but I don't really think Glenn Beck is every really genuine.

When will Beck and Levin apologize to Mark Steyn?

I think that’s why he announced an apology, to get people to show up, by the millions, to vote against Biden.

This is actually the best moment to say this. In the heat of the election season. He clearly had moved this direction.

I thought myself that Trump was running for the nomination as a favour for Hillary and I expressed my concern for that.

It was only when he started actively campaigning against Hillary, after securing the nomination did I change my mind.

A couple of Freepers told me Mark Levin has done the same.

I haven't seen that but I have listened to him. Only in the last two years did I come back occasionally, prior to that he was persona non grata to me. I was trapped in a city away from home for most of 2016 so I listened to a lot of radio in the evening and his never-Trump nonsense even after Trump had won the nomination irked me no end. He was in effect campaigning for Hillary Clinton until a few days before the election, when he started to get on board. But never fully.

I do believe he is sincere in his support for the President because of the things Trump has accomplished. It's probably not hurting that Trump has done so much for Israel, which is very important to Levin. But when he speaks of Trump's accomplishments it comes across as quite sincere. That's my opinion anyway.

I figured that Trump would govern for ~ 2years, get tired of the hassle and resign.

I was WRONG!

the virus has infected at least 5,889,652 Americans at the time of this writing, and has caused 181,186 deaths.

There was an article posted on FR today about some county that had over 4,000 recorded cases. The county officials were suspicious since the hospital certainly didn't reflect such number. They investigated the data and adjusted the number to 100.

I'm suspicious of the 6 million number above.

I’ve never been so glad to have been so wrong in my life. He’s the best President since at least Eisenhower.

Excellent question. Beck has his problems, as does everyone. He recently interviewed John MacArthur. I never listen to the "endless tangent one" but somehow I caught a little of it and Beck did him justice with MacArthur thanking Beck for all he does.

As far as Levin goes, he has made his amends and is now gungho for Trump.
