It seems that the Wuhan virus’s risks have been grossly exaggerated
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2020 | Andrea Widburg

Without the Wuhan virus, the Democrats have no meaningful opposition to Trump. Not only have the Democrats weaponized the Wuhan virus to destroy the economies under their aegis, but they’ve also repeatedly claimed that Trump killed 161,000 Americans. However, new CDC data shows that, of those Americans who died in the past seven months, only 6% died from the virus alone. The other 94% had serious comorbidities that (sadly) put them at a higher risk of death from anything that came along – and certainly from having sick people funneled into their nursing homes.

Bronson Stocking has broken down the CDC’s data:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website disclosed the shockingly small number of people who died from only the Wuhan coronavirus, with no other cause of death mentioned. Hold on to your hat because here it is: out of the 161,392 deaths in the CDC data, just six percent, about 9,700 deaths, were attributed to the coronavirus alone. According to the CDC, the other 94 percent had an average of 2.6 additional conditions or causes of deaths, such as heart disease, diabetes, and sepsis.

[snip]

Instead of protecting the vulnerable – the elderly in nursing homes and those with comorbidities – health "experts" recommended locking everyone up and prescribing for Americans a wide range of ailments such as depression, suicide, missed early cancer screenings, unemployment, substance abuse, and poverty.

BKnight makes the important point, as well, that the above analysis doesn’t even take into account the way that medical reporters threw into the Wuhan virus column deaths that had nothing to do with the virus:

“Meanwhile, I have known of 1 person (husband’s subordinate) with a very serious cystic fibrosis disease catch this virus thanks to having a “roommate” who caught it. “

I was talking to my wife’s lung doctor last week. He stated he has a lot of patients whose lungs are permanently damaged by Covid-19. They were healthy before Covid-19, now they will have lung issues like COPD for the rest of their life. There are other reports of Heart damage too.

I guess a lot of it depends on how healthy you are when you get infected. A lot of overweight Americans with unknown heath issues. We are a obesse nation.

I do not think my sister will survive the virus, she is overweight and has other medical issues. Hopefully her test comes back negative.

My aunt has Covid-19, she is 78 years old. She is pretty healthy for her age, she might survive this time. They think she caught it at a family wedding. My wife and I did not attend due to her medical condition.

Millions of healthy people forced to lose jobs and livelihoods. With this new information coming out, all states and all businesses should be able to go back to 100% capacity TODAY. Schools and sports everything back to normal.

There is a positive lesson we can take from the virus: generally speaking, Americans are unhealthy. Mostly related to obesity and lack of exercise. We have been sold on the notion that an array of orange containers with white lids is a substitute for healthy living. People need to take better care of themselves.

So Michele's school lunches aren't doing the trick?

only 6% died from the virus alone

I'll bet everyone of that 6% was above 65 Y.O.

This virus should be renamed the Cloward-Piven virus.

As I wrote elsewhere, let's be clear: The CDC data show (what we've all known for some time) that the vast majority (94% to be precise) of people who have COVID19 as cause of death on their death certificate, had other comorbidities. Or, clinically, "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death."

This is not uncommon - the following is a list of comorbidities with heart failure: coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, atrial fibrillation, stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA), valvular heart disease, myocardial infarction, body mass index, diabetes mellitus, serum creatinine, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep apnea, depression, anemia, and thyroid disease. Ain't that a kick in the head.

All that being said, this IS a nasty virus. I have saved this post from Laz of an excellent article, documenting how this virus attacks the body at multiple points. This idiosyncratic attack pattern, in part, begets an equally fractured citizenry. Indeed, I know people who've had the bug without much of a problem, and of people who struggled terribly. That, in part, spawns a fleet of Flubros (the former) and paranoids (the latter) who don't see eye-to-eye.

It is almost like it was engineered to be that way.

I'm not doubting the politicization of this pandemic or data chicanery or any of that. But this non-admission admission that sick people are more likely to die of this virus than healthy people is being blown out of proportion. This article and the GP article that announced this non-story is not only poorly-written but makes our side look like idiots.

Mlo, how does 3814 seemingly dead from only COVID strike you?

Nearly half of the deaths have suicide, accidents, or something else completely unrelated to a sickness as being from COVID-19.

Read this article and the tweets within all the way through.

Enjoy!

If we took the obesity “epidemic” seriously, we would have locked down the country decades ago and be Russian, Chinese, or Muslim, by now.

Was this flu worth destroying the world’s economy? It is becoming clearer everyday the Covid cold is a campaign of fear ( which the majority sadly bought into) perpetrated to exercise unconstitutional power over citizens and to influence the coming elections. What has become of America?

"Mlo, how does 3814 seemingly dead from only COVID strike you?"

It strikes me as a not very significant piece of information.

Just because people die while having other conditions does not mean they didn't die from Covid19. That's the logical error a lot of people are making.

Is the Covid19 number inflated? Probably. It's often impossible to reliably separate out the specific reason someone died. That's not a sinister plot, it's just the way things are. But you can't go from that to saying that only people that had no other conditions have died from Covid19. That's absurd.

Having pre-existing conditions and catching a virus or germ of any kind can be deadly. This has always been the case

RE: Having pre-existing conditions and catching a virus or germ of any kind can be deadly. This has always been the case

Yes, I concede this, BUT...

1) Covid-19 is MUCH MORE CONTAGIOUS than most other viruses including the flu

2) Covid-19 is MORE DEADLY than the common flu.

3) It can be argued that the survival rate of those with serious pre-existing conditions who catch the common flu is HIGHER versus Covid-19.

said, "What has become of America?"
It's the western world and China that is involved the same players that instigated the Coup d'état against Trump.

Now come on. For many people obesity is genetic.

Just as being thin is genetic for many.

Or at least, someone’s body chemistry makes things difficult. I’ve seen all kinds.

It goes both ways. Look at some Polynesian peoples.

Being overweight is not always purely the person’s fault, nor was my skinniness due to my great efforts to stay fit and eat right. Oops, I did none of those things. My dad’s family was skinny.
