A federal judge on Monday extended the deadline for absentee ballots to be returned in Georgia, ruling that they must be counted if postmarked by Election Day and delivered up to three days afterward.
The decision will likely result in tens of thousands of ballots being counted after Nov. 3 that would have otherwise been rejected, enough to swing close elections. The ruling invalidates Georgia’s requirement that ballots had to be received at county election offices by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross wrote that voters must be protected during the coronavirus pandemic, when record numbers of Georgians are expected to cast absentee ballots.

It is not the role of judges to make law. When these ruling come out without any foundation in either the Constitution or statutory law, the executives at both the federal and state level should just say, “No, we will not follow your illegal order.” Do not appeal, just ignore. Judges are not philosopher kings.
Never another “surprise” like 2016. They’re going to take this one any old way . . . and any old day . . . they possibly can.
For Republicans the answer is simple. Make sure everyone gets out to vote, and if they vote absentee make sure to do so early enough to ensure their votes arrive by election day.
Better yet, take advantage of the early voting period and vote in person! And then take the time afterwards to make sure your like minded neighbors and friends have all done the same thing.
Drive a neighbor and a couple of friends to the polls! Go for barbecue afterwards.
I would bet rapidly appealed as well.
Don't bother staying up late to watch returns.
Judges are not the legislative branch.
No makey no laws.
That is a truly insane decision.
The “three day” criteria is totally arbitrary, as is the rest of the decision.
Only someone who hates the country and wants to destroy it could even consider such a ruling.
If you can wait in line at the supermarket you can wait in line to vote.
