I think sports in general are on their way out Oh they will always be around in one form or another but we’ll never go back to the old days where the entire community turned out for the ball game. I notice that the big fans I know tend to be skewed older. Younger guys are still fans but increasingly fans in the ‘girly’ sense where they are enthusiastic when everyone around them is enthusiastic and may catch a very big game but are otherwise casual fans at best. More and more theres just so much other diversions like blockbuster movies and tv and realistic video games where you actually participate. The finisher is when we come up with practical VR/AR. Its not helping when they are catering to people who spend their time posting to xojane and twitter instead of their primary audience.
How about “We pander” on the 50 yard line? I think that would be appropriate.
I hate football anyway, but if I loved it I’d stop watching immediately.

I wish I could boycott them, but I haven’t watched since the Colts left Baltimore....
NFL is dead to me. However I will try to stay informed of the companies that advertise on NFL games. I will boycott them.
