Recovery is side or or back, preferably with one or both arms elevated above the head to expand the rib cage. Keeping them on their stomach reduces total lung expansion area when every cubic centimeter counts because of the respiratory distress.
I think the officers will eventually be found not guilty either at trial or on appeal, but the city is going to pay a very big settlement due to outdated training materials.
I do wonder why they didn’t administer Narcan if they thought he was ODing. Maybe MPD doesn’t carry it like a lot of big cities departments do.

Read the headline. When you get the suspect in the pictured position you are to proceed with the four instructions, one of which is to place them in the recovery position.

Exactly- One cop even mentioned excited delirium, and one cop mentions possible PCP- if you listen to the videos of body cameras you can hear these- people on PCP are unusually strong, and folks can pass out, then regain consciousness and freak out in the blink of an eye- and this is why they detained him until paramedics got there- people thought “He was passed out, and posed no threat’ but that isn’t true- George was passed out and still breathing for a time after he went limp- Had they let up, and he regained consciousness and freaked out, cops and onlookers could have been hurt- it was very obvious george was on something- and one cop thought PCP- a drug known to give people super strength

I listened to all the videos carefully to see if George was infact breathing- He was- the whole time- George did not suffocate from a knee on his neck- you can check this out yourself- none of the cops said ‘let him breathe’ to my knowledge- they said “He’s breathing” a couple of times when they checked on his condition after he passed out

Exactly- drug addled perps can explode at any moment- even when it looks like they are calm and complying- even after reviving from passing out- The body cam videos all show him breathing just fine, and speaking distinctly and clearly- something that would not be possible IF the knee suffocated him by squeezing off his airways-

Funny how you take offense at a statement that supposedly had nothing to do with you....since you seem to have a problem grasping the meaning of a sentence, when I said, “most of us” I was referring to the comment I was responding too - and it meant that those of us who had a problem with the cop’s kneeling and staying there for quite a while after the perp became non-responsive, the majority (most of us) had the problem because of that issue. I was not referring to “most of the FR members”...a person with a brain wouild have figured that out.

In light of the evidence presented here, there certainly is that possibility.
