Pay close attention to the wording of the article for a good lesson of how the same press that exaggerates whatever the right does tones down whatever the left does.

here's the headline:

A task force commissioned by the Washington, D.C., government has recommended renaming, relocating or adding context to dozens of monuments

And here's the actual proposal (mentioned way don in the article:

“remove, relocate, or contextualize” landmarks such as the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial ...

So basically the headline writer just changed the word "remove" to "rename" to create their own, slightly less offensive proposal to replace the actual proposal, knowing that most people would never make their way through the whole article.

Agree— and add to the “state” by eliminating all the Beltway Northern Virginia communities (yes— demographically draw the lines in/through all of the 100k a year demonrat bureaucrat and Beltway trough eating “consultants” and their real estate). Cut out Northern Virginia make the entire state into Marycolumbianaland. This would REDUCE this “state’s” power by eliminating 1.) the DC Circuit Court and Court of Appeals in the Federal system— gone 2.) the DC government and governing body of Congress and all the graft that results from that— no more Mayor, or Council or... cocaine- well one can dream! and 3.) 1 representative in Congress but-— oh yeah 2 Senators, NO CAN DO,not enough population.

Oh well- it’s an idea to work out and actuate. The District of Columbia houses the UNITED STATES... States representatives in Federal Government. That is it- for ALL the Country. As the Constitution intended.

"Home Rule" in DC should be repealed and abolished.
The nation's capitol was never supposed to have a
mayor, a city council, etc. The federal government
through the US Congress was supposed to oversee the
District of Columbia and have total control of the entire
city. A city manager can be appointed (as was used to be)
to manage the affairs of the nation's capitol.

Those residents of the city who don't like that
situation are free to move somewhere else. No more
elected city government. The elected city governments
the the past and present have been and are total failures.

A Mayor is a temporary employee.
These monuments represent hundreds of years of building this country.

The Dem Mayors represent a few weeks of destroying this country.

They MUST be stopped.

"Biden, Pelosi, Harris, Schumer et al should be asked their opinion about this now for the record."

They already gave it by passing HR-7608 on July 24th. They will require all Confederate plaques, monuments, etc. be removed from all NPS Civil War-related battlefields/parks.

How come all of these monuments and statues were fine until May 25th of this election year? And are probably fine again in December this year after the immediate post-election riots have been put down, and residents of democrat-run cities go back to the regular order of killing each other?

If this is where fifty years of home rule has lead to, it’s time to reconsider the issue before it gets even worse.

Awright now if we’re going after slave owners from 200 years ago, shouldn’t Kalamala Harris relinquish her Vice Presidency OTUS candidacy? Kamala’s GGGrandfather owned thousands of slaves, she represents slave owners from that era as much as these statues etc. represent the American Civil War and slavery.......
