Posting this item from the day Biden announced his candidacy in 2019 to keep it from going down the memory hole, and to refute the Biden campaign's recent attempt to position itself as opposed to riots. Snopes attempts to categorize some memes alluding to Biden's quote as "Mostly False" by arguing that, "While antifa was part of the counter-protests in Charlottesville, Biden did not mention the group by name. Therefore, we rate this claim as 'Mostly False'." But it is not necessary to mention something by name to refer to it (I refer Snopes to the grammatical concepts of pronouns and demonstratives). Moreover, Biden draws a parallel between the "courageous group of Americans" at Charlottesville and the 1930s resistance to the Nazis (whom Biden does not name, either, but hopefully it is obvious even to Snopes that he is alluding to the Nazis when he refers to "anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the ‘30s"). Biden's clear implication is that he means to praise as "courageous" those at Charlottesvile who took up the anti-fascist resistance of the 1930s, i.e., Antifa. He may not have known them by name (I doubt he did), but he certainly knew their self-proclaimed cause. Therefore, I rate the claim that Biden called Antifa courageous as "Entirely True" and award Snopes four Pinnochios.

It is a complete hoax. Biden is pinning his entire candidacy on a hoax.

He said there were ‘some very fine people on both sides.’ Very fine people on both sides?

We know he was thinking of history buffs, tourism dependent businesses like B and Bs, artsy folks, and reenactors, not klansmen or the like. I wonder what the author would be whining about if he had instead said "some assholes on both sides?"

All the criticism on Trump’s response to Charlottesville has been debunked. That Hiden Biden has no clue to the truth of Charlottesville shows how out of touch he can be over the simplest of matters. Fitness test for office = E.

It just occurred to me: If Biden wins it will send Hillary through the roof. She may have an interest in making sure a candidate arguably worse than her (Biden) doesn’t eclipse her by beating Trump.

There was a witness of Antifa getting off the same chartered buses with Klansman in Charlottesville

So Hiden and his side kick Kalamity are off on some LSD trip?
LOL!
I’m sure a lot of sane people of all races will run from these two, and their Antifa/BLM zombie army, like bats out of Wuhan hell if they know what’s good for them!
Vote TRUMP or end up in Wuhan Hell!

For Biden, the destruction of Libya without a plan B, that opened Europe to an invasion of millions of refugees, is a defining moment of his vice presidency. He and Zero’s apology tour that threw the middle east into chaos and birthed ISIS is another.

It is complete Malarkey which is what the Biden campaign defines itself.

Charlottesville was an elaborately staged play designed to set the narrative that anyone who wanted to preserve America and our history was a racist bigot.

But that definition of the Charlottesville theme used by Biden is a media manufactured theme, invented by the media talking heads misquoting what Trump actually said about the violent events there.

The “racist” theme against Trump actually began earlier, in Congress, in the Senate in the attempts (false accusations) to deny confirmation of Sessions as AG. They did not care that at the end of the day Sessions was going to win confirmation. Their bigger victory they knew the media would help them obtain, which was hanging a big “racist” bruise on Sessions, knowing it would be transferred to Trump for having nominated him.

For a nearly-80-year-old man with declining cognitive functions who was never that swift to begin with, and who has a long history of being a plagiarist, liar, and all-around BS-er, this probably makes sense. As Grandma always said, consider the source.

Charlotesville is what got me to sign up.

The Republican party got set up and we fell for it and the news blamed us for it. We were talking about history, culture, politics, and not looking at who is Jason Kessler, why is it associating with Richard Spencer.
