I was part of that boat lift. Took ferry to Jersey City, got on board a train to short hills, a person walking his dog offered me a ride to the short hills Hilton and that’s where my wife picked me up a few hours later.
We are a great nation because of citizens like this.
I understand people didn’t care where the boats were going - tey just wanted off the Island.
I never thought about the state of peoples minds regarding the idea they were truly fearful of another attack. But certainly seeing the tower fall and how it covered the Island...yep...that would have done it for me as well.
