In the early morning hours of 17 August 2020, the residents of a home in Garden City, Alabama woke to the sounds of four home invaders breaking into the house. The invaders did not expect what happened next: armed homeowners confronted them with firearms.
The invaders fled the scene, pursued by the homeowner(s).
In an exchange of gunfire, one of the four suspects was wounded. The wounding greatly aided the Sheriff's office in the investigation of the home invasion. Over the next three days, all four suspects were identified and arrested. Cullman County Sheriff lauded the homeowners. From Cullman County Sheriff's Office:
“This is a great example of citizens utilizing their second amendment rights and protecting themselves and their family. I have often stated that law enforcement can be minutes away when you only have seconds to defend yourself and your family. That’s why we at the sheriff’s office are proponents of not only having a weapon for self defense but also being proficient in how to use it,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry.
Sheriff Matt Gentry supports an armed citizenry with more than mere words.
The Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) offers Women's Self Defense classes for free, throughout the year, because of demand from the citizens.
Sheriff Matt Gentry is pleased to announce that the Cullman County Sheriff's Office is now offering Women's Self-Defense Classes. Our deputies developed these courses in response to the high volume of requests from citizens regarding self-defense classes for the public. Our safety courses are free of charge and will be offered throughout the year.
Deputy Chad Whaley will be instructor for the classes. Deputy Whaley has been with the Cullman County Sheriff's Office for more than ten years.

Yep, and the commie Hobbit ho Kamalaho has said she would ban the 2nd by executive order. If the puppeteers of the Biden puppet succeed in stealing the election, Kamalaho will become POTUS as the Biden puppet will step down after a month or so due to “health reasons”. To me this is why they nominated him, because of his health issues. If Kamalaho was nominated she would never win because she’s too communist, so this way they can slip her in through the backdoor by using the Biden puppet. I can imagine that this is a big cost saving program for the Sheriff.
Women are typically a prime target for criminals because they are seen as easy prey.
If the criminals in the county know that many of the women citizens are armed and ready to defend themselves they will think twice before attacking women or anyone else.
Less crime, less work for the Sheriff’s department.
Only a fool thinks he can break into a home in small town America and not face the second amendment.

You are correct. I live in a conservative county in Texas. We have had the same sheriff for years. We keep electing him because he reflects our conservative values and there has not been even a hint of corruption in his sheriffs department.
Sheriff Dar Leaf of Barry County, MI is a Constitutional Sheriff. I met him a few months ago at a speech he gave in Maryland. My son and Mother in Law both live in his county so the Sheriff and I met for lunch when we were in town for a visit.
He enforces law by constitutional principles.
A local fire department offers concealed carry classes. The Sheriff teaches the legal portion of the course.
He also told me that the totalitarian Governor Whitmer has told he people to stay out of Barry County because of the “crackpot” sheriff. He was proud of that.
Sheriff Gentry sounds like a great Sheriff. Any FReepers in his county? Thugs better stay out of his county!
