Federal prosecutors take over Seattle protester cases, concerning local attorneys
KUOW npr (Seattle) ^ | Sept. 12, 20020 | Amy Radil

This week the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle announced its eighth arrest related to events during this summer’s protests against racism and police brutality.

Defense attorneys say the Justice Department is going out of its way to try to discredit the protests.

But U.S. Attorney Brian Moran said his Seattle office is focused on cases like arson or firearms violations that he says are hurting the protest message.

Doing what our own DA’s office won’t do; charging those ‘peaceful’ protesters and all.

They need to do RICO prosecutions of the higher ups and the backers.

The riots focused on violating the civil rights of anyone who didn’t agree with the rioters, who were then labeled “fascists” which apparently then legitimizes any sort of violence visited on them.

Thus it is a Federal Civil Rights issue, in addition to likely other interstate crimes.

If SDNY can send armies of federal cops to Florida to arrest an American hero over a consumer protection violation, the AG himself can have federal prosecutors go after real and serious violations involving violence, property damage, interstate conspiracy and deprivation of rights.

Crack down fast and hard but only on those that have misbehaved in some way.

This became a Federal issue once the riot organizers recruited from out of state. Crossing state lines to commit crimes is outside the jurisdiction of the target location.

Subpoenas, particularly for Internet Service Providers, and cell phone service providers, are also Federal.

What would motivate you to say that?

...discredit the protests...hurting the protest message

LOL. They aren't protests; it is a communist insurrection under guise of "protest." It discredits itself; it doesn't need help being discredited. What a bunch of tripe.

Arson wit incendiary devices, like Molotov cocktails, is also a Federal offense, with a 5 year minimum sentence.

These defense attorneys are likely afraid of their own non-client connection to the rioters being exposed as well as their connections to the local Democrat crime machine that supports these riots.

The Fed conviction rate is very high and there isn’t any parole.

Would not surprise me if this (Federal investigations and prosecutions) is all an act, and it will all end after the election, if Trump wins.

We have had violent thugs attacking people and property since before Trump was elected, and only now we hear of any prosecutions?

“Crack down fast and hard but only on those that have misbehaved in some way. What would motivate you to say that?”

My sense of justice. I would only jail a liberal for a serious offense - like allowing their muffler to backfire.

Or, damaging the environment by driving with not enough air in their tires.

Not so much fun now, is it, you Antifa emos. The Feds are taking over because the state and local people are practicing catch and release.

We’ve been locking up the antifa commies and BLM racists for years under the state’s anti-klan laws. Why would the nazi nedia report that? They certainly don’t want their useful idiots to know that they could spend 10 to 20 years in state prison.
