(CNN)Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Sunday pushed back on President Donald Trump's frequent characterization of wildfires, like those currently ravaging the West Coast, as simply a forest management issue.
"It's been very clear that years of drought, as we're seeing, whether it's too much water and too much rain in parts of our country right now, or too little," Garcetti told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union." "This is climate change and this is an administration that's put its head in the sand." Slamming the administration as hosting "the last vestiges of the flat Earth society of this generation," Garcetti called for "real action."

I don’t know. I think as the forests become dysfunctional, for example, too many trees or more trees than a certain area was meant to carry for a particular soil/terrain/water shed resulting in at least local droughty conditions if not more widespread can certainly lead to an altering of climate. So yes, it has a lot to do with forest/range management.
We speak as though these fires are huge but the fires that occurred prior to industrialization were certainly very large.
I remember when I was a kid in the 50s — every town in the country had a perfect 73F all day long in the summer and every town got 30 inches of rain throughout the year. There were no bad storms, droughts, or floods. It was a regular Garden of Eden, it was. Those were the days. Sigh.

Canada is having a 30 year low in forest fires.
The fires are only caused by 99.99% bad forest management, the other one tenth of one percent are caused by ARSON.
