To: Political Junkie Too
My neighbor is an airline pilot. He told me that one difference with social distancing on a plane is that everyone is facing in the same direction, forward. You aren't breathing into someone else's face, you're breathing into the back of their seat.

True, but what if you turn to face your neighbor to converse or look?

Well, it's not like looking at Medusa and instantly turning to stone.

I don't think a casual turn of the head is going to matter much.

I told my neighbor that I remember the days of flying when there were smoking sections in the back of the plane. I used to turn the blower on high and point it behind me to make a wall of air to keep the smoke away. I suppose people can do that today, too, to put an air buffer between the rows.
