If they intended covid as a bio weapon to depopulate the US they could have picked a better one than one witn a 99% survival rate which mostly kills off the elderly and already sick.
I agree. It’s hard for me to imagine that the Chicoms would be so reckless as to wage biological warfare literally on the rest of the world. Were that charge ever to be proved, then the rest of the world would have to declare war and wage that war until the PRC is dead and gone forever. While I don’t exclude an accidental release, I feel that intent is far-fetched at this point. The Chicoms have an enormous stake in the international system. Are they really willing to risk all of that just to prevent Trump from getting elected or whatever? If they are then the world is a much, much more dangerous place than I imagine.

The scientist is not lying, but what they don’t mention is that this was actually done with the participation of scientists from the US. You can read the published papers and all the work the Wuhan Institute of Virology was doing creating deadlier versions of SARS-type viruses was in concert with UNC-Chapel Hill and other American institutions.
This “Frankenstein” stuff he is talking about is called “pseudotyping”. They were doing this with SARS-type viruses to find ways to make them more infectious and more deadly to humans, not as weapons per se, but to predict future vectors that might appear in the wild so we would know which would be the most dangerous. Then lo and behold, a virus that seems to be exactly like one of the more dangerous vectors they created appears in Wuhan, infecting people.
The release might have been accidental, but the creation of this virus was not.
I stand beside my assertion that this is only a precursor to a more dangerous virus. Their ineptitude was a totally a warning. They have worse viruses and they are irresponsible in their handling. Thus is worse than intentionally releasing a virus that only kills a small percentage of the population.
The Soviets could blow up the world and so can the Chinese, yet they choose not to. They are authoritarian but they are not insane.

Beside the anti-Trump motive, what about financial gain motives? Anyone in a position to sell a lot of masks, PPEs, vitamins, or to move them around the world, could have made tens of millions of dollars from this. Know anybody who fits this Bill?
