This thing is so damn politicized it’s ridiculous. There are lots of different potential therapeutics out there. No cure but if we can reduce risk of hospitalization, deaths and serious interventions by taking a combination of cheap generics why aren’t we studying these with extreme vigor?
So many tens of billions of dollars on a pipe-dream vaccine is one reason... and this pipe-dream is being held out for political reasons as the “only way” we can ever ‘return to normal’ when it is clear from plenty of evidence we can minimize and mitigate the impact of the disease on the individual if we intervene early. Should be handing out pill packs at every testing site.
