I haven’t read the Woodward book, but it would seem that Trump clued in Woodward on what was thought of CCPVirus in real-time, which has now been taken out of timeline context. April 1, the Surgeon General joined the CDC and WHO in telling us not to wear masks - to leave them available for first responders and medical staff. It wasn’t until weeks later that we were advised to wear fabric masks and, possibly, goggles - about the same time asymptomatics were considered highly-infectious, which has also been reversed recently. (just saw an article the other day rehashing the wear-goggles line).
