Maybe he won't go full RINO this time?

remember when McCain was the last holdout vote to repeal Obamacare after all the negotiations and the "skinny repeal" and all that, and then when it came down to the final vote he made the big theatrical thumbs down just to twist the knife in Trump's back and show him who was really in charge? It loses all the glamour if you tell them you're gonna do it ahead of time. Romney still has eyes on the Presidency, republican or as a to-be-formed establishment uniparty. He'll need some bona fides to get him to the head of the line.

No, Romney will never “Do the right thing”. If it’s not something to help him, his ego and/or his career, he’ll vote against it just to piss of Pres. Trump.

The man has no morals or ethics despite claiming to be a Mormon.

I think Mitt’s office is already being swamped with vows to destroy him if he blows this one.

Mitt will decide not to confirm after the nominee gets picked. No flack now, more cover later as other RINOs may join.

This is like lucy with the football. How many times can Charlie Brown fall for it? Romney will vote no. He also will play along for maximum effect when he votes no. There is nothing good that could ever come from a senator romney unless your democrat then youll love him

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, “An empty cab arrived, and Mitt Romney got out.”

They knew Ginsberg was dying. McConnell knew who would vote for and against. He would not have made such a confident statement on the night of Ginsberg’s death if he did NOT have the votes.

Yeah well Mitt better watch it.

Much of the crap he has done will be forgotten by Utah next time he runs.

But if he votes against or abstains from voting for a Trump nominee to replace RBG, he’s gonna have a BIG problem. The Mormons can be squishy on some things but not abortion. At all.

I’m not going to type out what my landlords’ reaction was when I told them the news this evening. (so the words “cheering” “confetti” and “high fives” are not in this post)

Mittens wants to pull a mccain and do a dramatic “thumbs-down” when the vote is taken.

I hate to say it but I don’t believe Romney as far as I can throw him. I’m not saying he’s lying, but he changes his mind WAY too often to be comfortable with a statement like this.

Mitt won’t have to go full rino. He has Collins, Murkowski, Grassley, Graham and a couple more lined up to derail any replacement for Ruth Ginsburg.

Why couldn’t it have been Romney instead of Ginsberg?

Probably not - this will be to allow the nominee to be confirmed while providing cover for Collins to be "independent."

He and Murkowski will probably do something like abstain from voting or vote "Present." That would make the vote 50-47.
