Barrett is who McConnell wants and McConnell gets what he wants most of the time.

Trump is often unpredictable, but I think you are right on this one.

The leftists in the Senate will be thoroughly unhinged on this selection and they will go there..... “Catholicism”

There is nothing but upside politically with her appointment and she is already the most “vetted” name on the list.

However, given the time crunch with this one prior to the election I do not understand the delay if it is ACB?

A show of respect for RBG.

I believe President Trump said it long ago. “I’m saving Amy for Ruth’s slot.

“Catholicism”: Let them go there, some Catholics in the balance might be driven away if they do.

Word. My Berniebot friend is already angry because, as The Industrialist headline blares, "Trump's Leading Pick To Replace RBG Believes Husbands Should Rule Over Wives." (God forbid someone has read Ephesians 5, and of course gets a straw wife argument in return.)

Timing in politics is always a dance.

My guess is that time was needed to get the Rs in the Senate “squared away”. McConnell needs to count votes and might still be counting votes. The GOP committed to hearing the nominee before the election but did they commit to voting for her? IDK.

Any anti Catholic rhetoric ought to be turned around and aimed at Pelosi.
After all, she “prays for the president” and” takes [my] faith seriously”.

The delay clears out every other anti Trump fake news from the headlines. Trump gets to set the narrative.
