Trump is a once in a lifetime candidate with an uncanny ability to play the media.
However, once he is gone we are likely screwed under our current election system because the power and influence of billionaires over our elections is insurmountable. When you have people who commit this much money to defeating one candidate along with a media committed to the same they are doomed.
The typical GOP candidate will never withstand the withering attacks of the media and the oligarchs.
The American people would do well to cap all political donations. Period. It pains me to write that because it does not fit my core principle of freedom, but I do not see any alternative. We now live in an age where a few wealthy men can simply buy an election and alter it via social media and mainstream media.
