Barrett opined on whether Pritzker had the governmental power, under existing law, to subject Illinois to that shutdown. As distasteful as that power is, it appears he does. Remember, she’s interpreting the law, not creating it.

She’ll be fine.

Yup. And that's what she's supposed to do. Ginsberg never saw it that way, which is why Ginsberg was an awful judge.

I rather thought ‘applying’ the law says it better for me....but I suppose there are times when it’s meaning isn’t always so clear and must be interpreted rightly.

No she did not, that was not the issue before her. The issue before her was whether Peitzker could exempt religious gathering to the 50 person limit. The decision was unanimous that the exemption was constitutional.
