Will the COVID-19 Response Be More Deadly Than the Virus? Early Indications Say Yes
PJ Media ^ | SEP 23, 2020 | STACEY LENNOX

When President Trump advocated reopening the economy, he warned that the lockdowns might have more of an adverse impact than COVID-19. Some assumed he was only talking about the economic implications but he also noted the risk of drug overdoses and suicides. We have seen increases in both of those types of deaths, along with significant mental health impacts..

the tragedy of extended lockdowns is compounded by people not seeking medical care.

United Kingdom is noting this trend .. Unexplained deaths in private homes are nearly nine times higher than those from Covid-19 amid fears that many people are still not accessing life-saving medical treatment.

...

Someone in the United States has a heart attack every 40 seconds, or nearly 790,000 per year. Likewise, strokes affect approximately 795,000,

...

Studies have also shown cancer screenings are down, which may lead to an increase in deaths where timely screening would have saved a life:

...

As a reminder, the infection fatality rate (IFR) for the seasonal flu, according to the World Health Organization, is 0.1%. For ages birth to 49, the IFR is lower than the seasonal flu. This fact needs to start guiding public policy nationwide immediately, especially regarding school openings where the average age of teachers is 41.

Clearly, those most at risk are over 70, and we know that these deaths generally include preexisting conditions. As of June, almost half of all deaths from COVID-19 had occurred in nursing homes.

CDC quietly updated the Covid number to admit that only 6% of all the 153,504 deaths recorded actually died from Covid.. Aug 29, 2020..

That's 9,210 deaths..

The other 94% had 2-3 other serious illnesses & the overwhelming majority were of very advance.

Trump’s economy was soaring, breaking records. democrats were furious because they didn’t want Trump reelected. They took advantage of a crisis to destroy the economy. They don’t want the economy to do well. They want chaos and misery, so they can put a socialist in power and turn the country socialist.

Very few Americans are dying from the covid who had no pre-existing conditions, like obesity.. So why are we committing economic and political suicide ?

They aren’t actually dead if you don’t put “dead” in bold and all-caps. If you get the joke, then it’s for you.

The virus is really only a problem for people who are really old and/or really sick and/or really fat. Our population has a lot of really old, really sick, and really fat people.

Characterizing the deliberate destruction of the American economy, American society and our Constitution by the governors for the past half year as “early indications” is ludicrous.

Although initially higher, Sweden now has a lower death rate per-capita than the US, which it achieved without the terrific economic damage still ongoing in the US.

Sweden never closed restaurants, bars, sports, most schools, or movie theaters. The government never ordered people to wear masks..

Bill Maher has been hoping for an economic collapse / recession – people hate me for it – but it would get rid of Trump..

Josh Barro: “Recessions are really bad. People lose their jobs and homes and we shouldn’t wish for it.”

Maher: “I know. It’s worth it.”

Those of us that don’t watch TV and read everything that was available, studies, masks, treatments... in Feb and March, have known this was a SCAM since it began

https://swprs.org/

Covid-19 IFRs are strongly age-dependent, with a steep increase above the age of 70. The median age of Covid-related deaths in most Western countries is 80 to 86 years (see section 3 below). In most Western countries, about half of all deaths occurred in nursing homes (see section 5).

Just saw a tweet that said in some states, you get tested, have minimal or no symptoms and up to 59 days later you die, of say, a heart attack. They match up your death certificate with your prior positive covid test result and list your cause of death as covid.

This is terrible and very true. I have friends in Spain and I just heard yesterday that the 21-year-old son of one of them just committed suicide. They’ve been locked down, even in areas where they didn’t have many cases, so the employment, studies and futures of young people have been completely crushed, and they’re very isolated. The suicide count at the end of this is going to be massive.

Yes!

Sweden did not lock down and initially had a very high death rate. The Sweds knew that once they acquired herd immunity the disease would die out in Sweden and it mostly has.

Sweden has achieved herd immunity. The rest of Europe has not due to stupid policies. In fact the total death rate is just about the average for Western Europe in Sweden. The rest of Western Europe will endure high death rates as they have not achieved herd immunity yet. In fact their total death rate will far exceed Sweden on a per capita basis until this is over. Sweden's logic was to allow the young and healthy to become infected and at the same to isolate and protect those at risk. They were correct, it worked, and they achieved her immunity.

Sweden did not destroy their economy and have conquered the disease. They were right!

Each year we combat the flu and do not destroy our economy. This is really not that much different except we did destroy our economy.

What is really sad is this disease has become politicized and those doing such do not give a damn how many lives it costs. They are very evil people and put Fauci at the head of the parade. He is a most skilled and knowledgeable man. He is guided by politics and not rational medical care and decisions. He is a very bad man with much blood on his hands.

At risk of dying alone: Democrat : unconstitutional orders halting families’ goodbyes..

A mom hospitalized for 21 days recently died without seeing her husband nor her two young children, despite the family’s repeated requests for an exception to insane orders barring family members.. young sons are in absolute shock.. They are really hurt that democrats would (without a court order) prevent them from seeing their mother at any point during the three weeks..

Covid model is being used to intentionally crash the US economy (as Bill Maher wants) thru lying / massively overstating cases..

The other 94% had 2-3 other serious illnesses & the overwhelming majority were of very advance.

So if I have both COVID and skin cancer and I die of lung failure, my cause of death should be listed as skin cancer, not COVID? We should only count the deaths of people who were in perfect health when they caught COVID? 9,210 deaths out of 7,124,958 cases gives us an absurdly low death rate of 0.13%. For comparison the global death rate is 3% (979,291 deaths / 32,011,733 cases). The US health care system is okay if a bit pricey, but it is not 23 times better at preventing COVID deaths. The authors' methodology is flawed.

The rest of Western Europe will endure high death rates as they have not achieved herd immunity yet. In fact their total death rate will far exceed Sweden on a per capita basis until this is over.

Sweden currently has 581 deaths per million, putting it at #7 in deaths per million among European countries.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

Sweden's logic was to allow the young and healthy to become infected and at the same to isolate and protect those at risk. They were correct, it worked, and they achieved her immunity.

The problem with the herd immunity hypothesis is that it requires 90% of the population to be infected for herd immunity to kick in. 90% of the US population multiplied by the current hospitalization rate of 0.1517% gives us 450,549 COVID patients requiring hospitalizations. The US currently has 85,247 ICU beds. Meanwhile people are not going to stop having heart attacks and other problems requiring hospitalization. I'm young and healthy but if I get into a car accident I'd like there to be a hospital bed available for me.

Each year we combat the flu and do not destroy our economy. This is really not that much different except we did destroy our economy.

Even those who survive COVID can suffer from permanent lung damage or life-threatening blood clots. Never heard of the flu doing that.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/coronavirus-and-bloodclots

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2247086-the-coronavirus-is-leaving-some-people-with-permanent-lung-damage/

What is really sad is this disease has become politicized and those doing such do not give a damn how many lives it costs.

I agree; no other country in the world has politicized this disease to the extent that the US has, which could be why they have fewer cases than we do. I practice social distancing, wear a mask when out in public, and avoid unnecessary trips outside my home. I also support the unborn's right to life, fiscal responsibility, a strong border, and family values. I see no contradiction between those two statements. I simply do not trust the statements of those with a financial interest in getting Americans to consume like it's 2019 again, regardless of how many lives it costs. Having seen a guy in great shape reduced to a shadow of his former self by COVID, I no longer trust that youth and health are enough to protect me from the long-term effects of COVID.

It’s tragic. I only hope the parents of this young man in Spain can have a funeral for him...with the exception of Sweden and Iceland, the European countries have gone as crazy as the US if not crazier.

And, frankly, a lot of older people in homes where they can’t see family are just plain dying of loneliness. They stop eating and just turn their faces to the wall.
