I can get 50 KN95 masks on eBay for $14-$19. free shipping.
They are thrown away after going into a store or two so I’ll deal with the loop breakage.
Same here. They are for appearances. This link says P95/100 is $7 to $67 a piece. I’m not paying a lot for this muffler!

Key swamp demons were making fortunes when they allowed US companies in a number of industries including pharma,(asprin.vitamins, masks) and computer; and electrical as well metal fabrication components even bicycles relocate their factories in China . To the point where China was our sole supplier. The money the CCP has now comes from US .If we play our Chinese checkers right we can really turn things around for the better not only here but in China as well.

In general, the chinese crap made for public consumption is junk; i.e. lost count long ago of the various automotive components that are trash fresh out of the box.
Bottom line, we need to quit financing our own demise.

Hard drives are a consumer good that requires extremely high quality precision micromachining and finishing, absolutely sterile clean room manufacture, and high reliability/precision electronics. China makes more of them than anyone else, and again, they are of no worse quality and longevity than the last three or four generations of drive that were made pre-China. If you can make decent quality hard drives, you have all the technology and ability you need to make any mechanical or electromechanical consumer good with high quality. Chances are pretty good that unless your computer has an SSD or is really old, the hard drive was made in China.
It’s not that China can’t make consumer goods for public consumption that aren’t junk, because clearly they *can.* The thing is, they don’t unless someone pays them to or they have some other incentive; China doesn’t have a culture of “make everything as excellent as you can just for pride of workmanship” as the US more or less generally used to.
The big problems with Chinese manufacture at this point:
1. Buying/contracting companies in the US and elsewhere not willing to pay more for better product out of Chinese factories. They just want *some* product at as low a price as possible and could care less about anything else.
2. Buying/contracting companies don’t pay for local QC checks or perform their own.
While yes, we need to stop feeding money to the Chinese, we should keep the above two points in mind as we bring manufacturing back to the US. A lot of the people that think points one and two are acceptable are still in charge of companies and we will still get crap product from them. Remember, companies have produced crap in the US as well.
