They were pretty brutal to Betsy DeVos at her confirmation hearing for US Secretary of Education. She “has it all” too—beautiful, smart, Christian, and the richest woman in Michigan and one of the richest in the US. . .
The Senate doesn’t care about getting women in power—just Dem women.

I hope that happens. Every non vote reduces the numbers of positive votes necessary for confirmation. It isn’t the majority of Senators, it is the majority of votes cast. An abstention is not a vote.

I saw a clip of Barrett and family leaving their house today, getting into a car. Nobody looked happy. ACB appeared very tense.
Tells me the Dems are loaded up and she already knows it.

They will put up only token resilience since they shot their wad and destroyed any reasonable points with Kavanaugh.

If they weren’t at 100 all the time they would still have the filibuster and there is simply no way the Repukes would have pulled that trigger in this environment. A few weeks after Trump was elected to replace Scalia, no problem. They are not the strategic giants they would have you believe

That makes it so you need all the less votes to confirm.

a central question: How much legitimacy do they give his candidate? How arrogant is it of the Democrats to think that it is they who "give legitimacy" to someone like Amy Coney Barrett?
Any right-minded person would chastise any Democrat who says this, declaring that it is Judge Barrett's own efforts and life experience that gives her legitimacy, not anything that a Democrat "gives" her.

Senator, with all due respect, you have no intention of voting to confirm my nomination, so I decline to answer your question based on its irrelevance.Good one...I told the wife almost the same thing the other day...any dimm Sen who asks some stupid question should receive your suggestion.

Theyve come to the realization that they cant stop Barrett from being seated before the election. Now they have to decide whether its in Bidens best interest to trash her during the confirmation or let her be seated quietly. If they drag her through the wringer they take the focus off of the campaign and possibly alienate women voters. It will also take the spotlight off of Trump and Covid, an issue they hoped to use to propel Biden into the White House. If they turn the nomination hearings into a circus thats valuable airtime that the media could be using to trash Trump over Covid.
Whether they go after her or not depends upon what they think will give them the best mileage in the election.

All Trump does in Win Win Win! I feel a little bad for the Rats. Well, not really. Elections have consequences.

I'm sure the Rats will fight. I'll bet DiFi can come up with another letter alleging anyone’s misconduct in high school.

It’s free air time. They’ll engage. They pretty much have to anyway given the hysterical workup. If they don’t engage they end up having to explain to the shriekers why they didn’t resist someone who they’ve been claiming is hellbent on denying them their abortions. Also, it’s a chance to take free shots at Trump in the questions and try to make the candidate defend him. Cheap and dirty is their style.
To: libstripper
Trump couldnt have picked a better time for the old broad to croak.
