WASHINGTON Judge Amy Coney Barrett, President Trumps pick for the Supreme Court, has compiled an almost uniformly conservative voting record in cases touching on abortion, gun rights, discrimination and immigration. If she is confirmed, she would move the court slightly but firmly to the right, making compromise less likely and putting at risk the right to abortion established in Roe v. Wade.
Judge Barretts judicial opinions, based on a substantial sample of the hundreds of cases that she has considered in her three years on the federal appeals court in Chicago, are marked by care, clarity and a commitment to the interpretive methods used by Justice Antonin Scalia, the giant of conservative jurisprudence for whom she worked as a law clerk from 1998 to 1999.

If she is confirmed, she would move the court slightly but firmly to the right
If (and it's a big if, given the inconsistency of "conservative" SC jurists over the last 50 years) she votes consistently as a conservative, Barrett would eliminate John Roberts' role as swing vote and finally, at long last, cement a conservative majority on the court.
Given the Reagan, Bush I and Bush II presidencies, conservatives should have been able to count on a solid majority for decades, but O'Connor, Souter, Kennedy and now Roberts doomed that effort. Conservatives have done their job supporting these presidents and their SC choices only to be let down and betrayed again and again. Barrett better be worth the support. Same goes for Gorsuch and Kavanaugh - given what they went through and what conservatives had to go through in support of them, we need much better from them than Gorsuch's transgender legislation-from-the-bench.

Ive long passed the point where I have any confidence in GOP Supreme Court nominees.
To me, the ACB nomination is more about politics than anything else meaning, how badly will the Democrats damage themselves by attacking her?
Thats it.

They have to say this. Otherwise, they would be admitting that Ginsberg was a far left radical.

making compromise less likely I don't think the justices are supposed to debate and "compromise." They just have to apply the law.

And all these years, the rats stood firm and forced the conservatives to the left. So what’s the problem?

They will never learn. Just as rush said they could vote for her without any hearings. She just had hearings for her appt to the federal judgeship she has now. The hearings were held in front of the same senate panel and voted on by whole senate. They probably could have deemed her already advised and consented to if they wanted to(or had the balls to).
