I for one, tend to be much more direct when disagreeing with someone
There simply are very few people who posses the ability to repartee with devastating effect using simple language that implies to much.
Churchill - "A lady came up to me one day and said 'Sir! You are drunk,' to which I replied 'I am drunk today madam, and tomorrow I shall be sober but you will still be ugly."
Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."
Winston Churchill: "Nancy, if I were your husband I'd drink it."
I Wonder, is it possible you too, may have reached your zenith during high school?
Unless you are from the South (Many former British subjects - Not the crazy Puritans who went to Texachusetts - emigrated to the South and this may be their source of Churchillian repartee) you may not be accustomed to the art of the insult
