NY Times Obtains Trump’s Tax Returns

The New York Times on Sunday revealed portions of President Donald Trump’s tax returns. The data dates back over 20 years.

Trump “paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made,” the report says.

Additionally, Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and another $750 in 2017. The data obtained does not show The President’s personal returns for 2018 or 2019.

If this was released by an IRS employee, without authorizaton, it is a federal crime.

26 U.S. Code § 7213 - Unauthorized disclosure of information
U.S. Code

(a)Returns and return information
(1)Federal employees and other persons

It shall be unlawful for any officer or employee of the United States or any person described in section 6103(n) (or an officer or employee of any such person), or any former officer or employee, willfully to disclose to any person, except as authorized in this title, any return or return information (as defined in section 6103(b)). Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable upon conviction by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution, and if such offense is committed by any officer or employee of the United States, he shall, in addition to any other punishment, be dismissed from office or discharged from employment upon conviction for such offense.

There were years, when I paid very small federal income tax due to loss carryovers. It is all legal.

2020 my tax bill should be very low because tax law has exempted RMD’s for 2020 which was major part of my taxable income in 2020.

And then in 2021 I may have a huge tax bill due to cashing in long term capital gains.

It's paywalled but it is present.

Interesting that in their entire piece they do not allege he committed any tax crimes or can prove any crimes or that would have been their headline.

This really doesn’t show anything we didn’t know about in 2016 he uses tax attorneys like rich people to use any and all laws to his benefit. Lots of businesses have losses that reduce taxes. It is the nature of business, especially real estate with depreciating assets.

As with National Security documents they will proclaim freedom of the press.

Meanwhile soros DAs threw the book at the people who interviewed Planned Parenthood undercover.

looks like the Slimes have several articles on this

The New York Times
@nytimes
Tax records provide a detailed history of President Trump’s business career, revealing huge losses, looming financial threats and a large, contested refund from the IRS. Here’s a timeline of Trump’s finances.

Fake News.

BTW, what did the Moscow mayors wife give Hunter Biden $3.5 million, and why did all the FBI and DOJ investigators on Crossfire Hurricane buy liability insurance?

A comparison to 2016 would seem to be appropriate to ask. If the DEM lead in 2016 was 150,000 or greater in FL, then the posted information is good news indeed. If the lead was less than 100,000, then who knows if this is good news.

He lost more money than he made? Isn’t that another way of saying he had no income ? So he’s the poorest candidate in the race.

I read that when the real estate market crashed in the early 90s, he was a billion dollars in debt and did not exactly try to hide it.

But, he kept his cool and worked himself out of it.

Does this newspaper provide photographic evidence of the tax returns, or is this a “trust us, would we lie to you” article?

net income doesn’t mean anything when you have assets.

If you have $10 Million in the bank and you lose $30,000 a year every year, you are still rich and pay no taxes.
