AFAIK, there is no LEGAL way to obtain someone’s tax return.
My supposition is that the NY Slimes paid somebody at President Trump’s accounting firm to get this info.

I had a friend at the IRS. He said they could get in big trouble of they tried to search for data on someone who wasn’t an assigned case for them.
