Here Are The People With Large Platforms Who’ve Warned Of Violence If The GOP Replaces Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with only weeks left before the 2020 election, some activists and people with high profiles have called for action to resist President Donald Trump’s potential selection. Some even threatened violence.

Trump’s nomination to the court is Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who has already faced smears for her Catholic faith, including by Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who said that “The conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you,” which is “of concern.”

The president’s nomination now requires a vote from the Senate. (RELATED: REPORT: Senate To Begin Amy Coney Barrett Confirmation Hearings On Oct. 12)

“We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election,” Beau Willimon, an American playwright and screenwriter, said on Twitter Sept. 18. His tweet received more than 19,000 retweets.

Former CNN employee Reza Aslan twice threatened to “burn the entire Fxxxxxg thing down” after Ginsburg died, should the GOP try to replace her. Aslan did not respond to a request from the Daily Caller to elaborate on what he meant by the tweets.

Canadian political science professor Emmett MacFarlane of the University of Waterloo tweeted “Burn Congress down before letting Trump try to appoint anyone to SCOTUS.

Laura Bassett said in a tweet that appears to have been deleted that “If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots.”

One of the more bizarre aspects of Trump’s presidency is how he has mobilized the entire world to take a position with respect to US politics. I guess obama did a bit of that, too, what with the world falling all over themselves to support him...but Trump has pushed that process much further along. Now to the point where Canadians are threatening violence because of what is happening with respect to the USSC.

We live in, um, interesting times......

Don’t you remember all those right-wing riots when Clinton appointed Ruth Bader Ginsberg to replace Justice Byron White, one of the two pro-life votes on Roe v. Wade?

“...Trump’s presidency...has mobilized the entire world to take a position with respect to US politics.”

Yes. The world wants to see America knocked down many notches. They are jealous of us.

They want us as taxed and controlled and limited and queer and miserable as they are.

What the heck is some Canadian political scientist doing threatening violence in the US?

I’ll come up to his igloo and wash his face with snow.....yellow snow.

Canadian political science professor Emmett MacFarlane of the University of Waterloo

Who has a dog in this fight WHY, exactly?

Snooty Canadians who go poking their nose into our politics are a particular pet-peeve of mine.

Sure, a dark day blotting out some of America's greatness when the rightwingers rioted./SARC

Our problem is the GOP being gentlemanly (and gentlewomanly) and saying better luck next time, while Dems never give up, never act defeated, always kick sand in our faces and slander us anyway.

That will end soon, whether the GOP prefers it or not. Upgraded leftist rioting and burning (and power station sabotage and blocked roads) will not be countered by a measured response from Lindsey Graham on a news panel session.

Ret. Captain Sullenberger is quite the political expert against America in election years.

I hear Billy Joel knows what’s best for America, too.

Meathead and Deniro are the best experts Hollywood has.

I dunno if it's just me, but.... In this environment - it crosses my mind that security for Judge Barrett is critical. As far as I know, it has never happened before, but, no sense in overlooking this possibility. Violence could be the method by which some extremist groups attempt to stop this nomination. I'm in the federal courts all the time and the U.S. Marshals that I come into contact with are not your usual sleepy county courthouse security guards. They are very serious and capable - and I hope they are planning for every contingency. I would use a double to make a public entrance, while bringing Judge Barrett through a secured back entrance, etc., etc., etc. If you think of monetizing the value of the chain of consequences to having Barrett on the court for say 30 years, there is a huge incentive to some groups to go to any length to stop her. Let's be extra careful to avoid threats of violence. I almost cannot believe I have to express such a thought - but with the violence and property destruction we have witnessed this summer - and the crazed rhetoric of the extreme left, we need to be careful.

Ya’ll forget that They are ‘one worlders’, one world government, everybody under the same thumb, theirs.

They believe in it like a religion. Injustice ‘anywhere’ is injustice ‘everywhere’.

They have branches in every country.

Their ANTHEM is The Internationale.....................

Most Canadians are just like us.

They put maple syrup on their pizza.

They are born with skates on their feet.

Their best friend is a Polar Bear.

You put a Canadian in the middle of Kansas City, and 90% of the population couldn’t tell the difference between him and somebody from Peoria.....who put maple syrup on his pizza.

Yes, it is probably a little less, but close to that. If you said 100 miles, it would probably be more. Edmonton, Alberta is probably the only Canadian city of significant size which is well beyond that range.

A Canadian friend sold their home up there and moved into a rental here to pay for life saving surgery on the U.S. side of the border. Officially, it is a vacation rental. But since they are retired and have no home to go back to (save for a quarterly exit from the country to avoid running afoul of our visa laws), it is now their residence.

Such is one of the wonders of socialized medicine. They could have had it done for "free" in Canada after waiting long enough for it to be fatal.

Crazy people with massive egos who have zero power always end up in prison or in a grave.
Not even good to be used as lab rats maybe food for feral dogs.

True, no one lives up north. It is too cold.

The majority of the population lives in the Toronto, Montreal & Vancouver areas.

Over a third of the people in Canada live in the province of Ontario (around 15 million). It is one big metropolitan area from Niagara Falls, Hamilton all around the lake through and to the east of Toronto.
