There are 318 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020, of which 211 are individuals and 107 are organizations.

318 is the fourth highest number of candidates ever. The current record of 376 candidates was reached in 2016.

February 1st is the deadline for nominations, so Obama was nominated within the first 11 days of his becoming President.

For all we know, Biden has also been nominated this year. If so, I wouldn't put it past the Nobel Prize committee to give it to him in hopes of aiding his chances in the election.
