I doubt they would be stupid enough to try an earpiece. Someone who is mostly lucid could probably pull it out, but I don’t think his brain could get his mouth to speak what was being whispered in his ear fast enough and he would just end up sounding like a babbling idiot (and I’m mean much worse than he normally sounds). Either way it would be way too obvious and would completely turn off any independent voter.
My guess is that the intern at CNN wrote “Former Vice President” and someone told them to edit it—and the edit got screwed up. Or they are so used to writing Former VP, it has become rote.
The people at these “sources” are not the “A” team. If you have social media coordinators in your company, you know what I mean.
