Disney Plans 28,000 Layoffs In U.S. Parks Biz Hard Hit By COVID
Deadline ^ | September 29, 2020 | Jill Gildsmith

Walt Disney’s parks chief Josh D’Amaro said Tuesday the company will be laying off staff at its theme parks, the segment of the company hardest hit by the pandemic.

...

”In light of the prolonged impact of COVID-19 on our business, including limited capacity due to physical distancing requirements and the continued uncertainty regarding the duration of the pandemic – exacerbated in California by the State’s unwillingness to lift restrictions that would allow Disneyland to reopen – we have made the very difficult decision to begin the process of reducing our workforce at our Parks, Experiences and Products segment at all levels, having kept non-working Cast Members on furlough since April, while paying healthcare benefits. Approximately 28,000 domestic employees will be affected, of which about 67% are part-time. We are talking with impacted employees as well as to the unions on next steps for union-represented Cast Members.“

They’ve been progressive since the late 70’s and totally woke since the early 2000’s. It’s not a recent trend and pretty damn pervasive now.

COVID had nothing to with it, it was all a scam from the get go, destroying the Economy of the World was their last shot to take out Trump. He has Singlehandedly put a Big Monkey Wrench in the SELLOUT of Americans by our Politicians and their desire to have a One World Government in charge of serfs worldwide.

Disney has probably ordered thousands of low paid H1B workers to replace them.

Then CEO of Disney has to be able to make his $50 million salary for 1 year. So it costs 28,000 people their jobs....matters not to him.

I don’t know about the 70s, but they certainly have been progressive since the 1990s starting with Beauty and the Beast, which I blame primarily on Jeffrey Katzenberg back when he was the chairman of WDAS.
