Gov. Andrew Cuomos top staff has launched a last-minute effort trying to stop New York Citys embattled Board of Elections from resending ballots to nearly 100,000 Brooklynites who received the wrong return envelope, The Post has learned.
The developments come just hours after BOE commissioners ordered the agency vendor that botched the initial absentee ballot mailings to resend them.
The governor wants to take a different approach, said Doug Kellner, the co-chairman of the state Board of Elections, who declined to elaborate further. Youve got to talk to the governors office.

Cuomo will just send people to collect and fill in the ballots already sent.
How did it even happen? Crazy!!
ML/NJ
Only in New York! Can’t wait to get out of this state. It is insane here! The government can’t even run an election now!
100,000 loose ballots...imagine that
If they are the part of the district of Staten Island and part of brooklyn, good!!
I can say more than that :)
Cuomo just wants to make sure they are all Dem votes. Then put them the heck through, whydoncha? Get a move on. There’s a country to overthrow.
Give the real return address voters two new absentee votes to make it up to them. Consolation prize like participation trophy in school.
This is New York. Sadly, 100,000 votes wont mean anything.
How much is he just following Clinton inc. orders. Cuomos boys have always been tools.
you really have to wonder if the Democratic Party opposition is because they have already bought, paid for and collected the invalid ballots and this is going to stretch their ability to buy enough new and proper ballots to effectively cheat.
Inquiring minds want to know.
Government seems to make just about everything worse. OK maybe it was an independent contractor that screwed it up but this is an easy fix. Just have someone, maybe some off-duty or limited duty state police, stationed at the “wrong address” to collect the mailed in envelopes and put them in a secure, locked compartment for election officials.
IMO, at this point and given technology, every location that receives ballots should have 24/7 live streaming and video capture.
I see more and more evidence that competent contractors want nothing to do with election work for a government body. It's all risk for standard rate reward and there's a conflict of interest working for campaigns at the same time.
The governor wants to have everybody break the law, and then he wants to break the law, because it is so much easier to cheat if you throw out all the laws that protect you against cheating.
Ive been told there has been some speak about a resurgence of the virus in orange county, rockland county and brooklyn. Im waiting to hear that because of the upsurge the polls will be closed and you will be voting by mail
So what happens next? Bill Smith signs his ballot which should have been sent to Bob Jones. He mails it in. Are they still doing signature checks? So this ballot is either opened and counted or placed in a pile of rejected ballots (to be later discussed by officials and courts).
Next replacement ballots are sent out so Bill Smith votes again. Meanwhile Bob Jones mails in his replacement ballot...which should be rejected if Bill Smithqs first mailin ballot was accepted. So, Bill Smith might get to vote twice while Bob Jones doesnt get to vote.
Or perhaps all three ballots are counted.
What a mess! Meanwhile the Slimes prints article after article on the wondrous beauty of mailin ballots and muddles or hides the details on this snafu. At the least they should tell us which neighborhood in Brooklyn got the ballots...there are Republican neighborhoods like Williamsburg. Also they should be telling people not to return ballots with this mistake.
