Some Business Leaders Should Face A Firing Squad, Former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo Suggests In Angry Tweet
Forbes ^ | Oct 1, 2020 | Abram Brown

Posted on 10/01/2020 3:57:14 AM PDT by Levy78

Many harsh words are traded on Twitter each day. Dick Costolo, the former CEO of the company, added some of his own tonight.

Costolo was responding to a debate that has consumed tech’s elite on Twitter over the past few days, an argument about whether the industry should actively promote social justice causes and encourage political conversations at work. Costolo’s comments had the effect of dumping a jerrycan’s worth of fuel on the fire. “Me-first capitalists who think you can separate society from business are going to be the first people lined up against the wall and shot in the revolution,” he tweeted. “I'll happily provide video commentary.”

He would have made a great CEO for IG Farben during WWII.

I read that book.

It was a very difficult read, IIRC. Quite unsettling.

There was a second one I read. The Nazi Seizure of Power: The Experience of a Single German Town, 1922-1945, Revised Edition Paperback – November 10, 2014
by William Sheridan Allen. I think I have the original edition.

On my list to re-read.

Absolutely. Those on the Trump train have no idea of the magnitude of the attack that will come following the election. If you are still hung up on the Russia hoax/impeachment crap, you aren’t seeing what is about to hit you
I’d like someone to name five significant Republican political figures that are as tough as Trump at the state or federal level. Republicans have stood down, long ago.

All this talk of conservatives shooting back is bullshit, they won’t suffer the consequences. If you didn’t buy your guns and ammo, and prepare a red state rural retreat in the last 15 years, you are screwed. That buys you a few more years at most and a place your kids can seek refuge in.

Yes, Rivera went back to Mexico City and re-created the original mural with JD Rockefeller sitting with a call girl sipping a martini amidst miners slaving away and Lenin inserted on the other side of it. “I have made contact with these people, they may win”. Rod Steiger in Dr. Zhivago playing a rich business type before the Revolution talking about the communists.

There isn’t going to be a CW2 because we have no opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. They firmly control all of our corrupt intuitions and have the power to easily crush dissent.

In 2016 many of the so-called Republicans that we voted for our entire lives supported Hillary Clinton and her SCOTUS over the GOP nominee who received a record number of votes.

In 2017-18 those same GOPers stood silent as the FBI lied to GOP House about Spygate and Ryan threw the House to Democrats. We have an going coup to this day against President Trump and the GOP couldn’t care less.

How does one counterattack a party run by Quislings so quick to collude with progressive Democrats? Whenever conservatives get close to “winning” the establishment/rank and file just throws in with Democrats.

The first civil war had a modicum of honor and ‘rules of war’ while intact the coming calamity will have none of that.

This gets into a very sensitive area and my views are out of the mainstream. If the Nazis had won WWII, there would not have been any trials for crimes against humanity regarding the holocaust. That seems pretty obvious. The winners get away with whatever they did, for the most part.

I certainly oppose genocide. I also observe that wars tend to be won by people who don't hold themselves back. That doesn't guarantee a win -- the Nazis didn't hold themselves back, and they lost. But America didn't hold itself back either -- we dropped 2 nukes on Japan. Because we wanted to win and get the war over with.

If we have CW2, there will be atrocities. And I think the side that loses will be the side that wants to be nice and tries to hold itself back. That should be a chilling thought.

The Left clearly won't be reluctant to do awful things.

"...whether the industry should actively promote social justice causes and encourage political conversations at work..."

In my entire working career, of all the things in the workplace that have angered and infuriated me, the compulsion of an employer to press upon me their political and social views has angered and infuriated me the most.

Especially now. My employer did an "eight minutes of silence, because that is how long George Floyd had his neck kneeled on" and also encouraged people to congregate and take a knee in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

I was so angry that my employer, who I have always respected and given my all for, would subject me as an individual to that.

I am, and always have been my entire life, beholden to the principle that for my employer to pay me, I should provide value to my employer. They are not employing me as a social benefit. They are employing me because they want a organization that can pay its own way and be self-sustaining in the ability to meet a payroll, pay taxes, and make a profit.

They aren't hiring me out of some charitable motive.

In that light, if I give them what I need, I don't expect them to subject me to social justice or any other kind of societal garbage. It is a simple contract-they pay me, and I give them what they need.

In accepting this as the terms of a bargain, I have more freedom and liberty than the greatest mass of humanity that ever existed before me in history. And the Left despises that bargain.

There is. Although it is limited. Start here:

https://brilliantmaps.com/2016-county-election-map/

Notice there are only three states all red. If not these three then:

Second look for a state with growing Republican registration compared to democrap. Where there has been increasing republicans elected at the state and local level. And where there is no major mega city/county urbanized area that by numbers always outvotes the rural areas.

Yes it is limited, and the other bad news, you should have moved there already.

Respectfully, disagree. We are way beyond the democrat/Republican paradigm for the reasons you state, they’re the same party essentially. CW2 isn’t going to be nationally lead forces under the control of present institutions but a very chaotic and crowded mix of loosely allied factions often fighting one another as much as the ‘enemy’.

I’m not sure we fully understand that of which we are in the end of the beginning stages. Even a few years ago, I thought this a low probability, but alas... the die is cast.

Yugoslavia's strife started with exactly the same rioting we're seeing in American cities now. There will be no refuge when the enemy marches on us. We will have no organized entity like a formed army, so it'll be on each of us and our families to mount our own defenses as the situation deteriorates. Death squads are on the near horizon.

Marxist atheists cannot be reasoned with. We don’t have General Grant or General Lee on the other side of the table with whom a deal can be struck, a compromise. These are rapid nutjobs who will have to be pounded into submission by pretty much any means necessary. Unfortunate, but true.

If you really want to understand how people became willing killers for Hitler, Stalin, and Mao read “The Psychology of Mass Fascism” by Wilhelm Reich. Fascism by any other name is socialism - so its is the same mechanism.

Funny. When I saw the movie “Dr. Zhivago” at the age of around 10, it had no effect on me except for the scene where the Reds killed the boys from the military academy in a grassy field.

When I watched the movie again within the last several years, it had quite an effect on me.

Particularly the scene where he comes back from the war to find his family’s home ‘requisitioned’ by the party.

I had much the same feeling some years back when I re-read “A Tale of Two Cities”. I was forced to read it in school at some point, but when I read it as an adult, knowing far more about human nature...it had a far greater impact on me.

Sometime, relatively soon, we’ll no longer be fighting for political power; we’ll be fighting for our very lives.

"I used to wonder where Hitler found people willing to kill for him. Truly. You can look at America today and just see how close we are to doing what Germany did. You just need a certain percentage of the population to have some crazy ideas and to be darn certain that they are absolutely right and everyone else is absolutely wrong. Once those people get control, anything can happen."

I guess it's not surprising, that the one thing we are told over and over and over is the only bad thing in society - racism - now has its own religion.

The cult of anti-racism is real, and its adherents are as zealous and crazy and punitive and violent as any extremist religious sect. Any act of discrimination, any curtailment of your freedom is justified to them. The scary thing is that it has infected people at all levels of society, people with the power to force you to submit to their demands.

The scariest thing is that only about three or people stand in the way of this chaos. If Trump and a few senators should lose next month, watch out... Our country as we know it is hanging on by a thread.

and yet they call President Trump Hitler!

nowhere is more TDS-afflicted than taxpayer-funded ABC TV Australia’s Q&A program:

37m42s to 39m10s:

VIDEO: 1h6m: 21 Sept: ABC TV Australia: Q&A: US Election 2020: Four More Years?
Transcript:
ELEANORE WELLS (black American living in Australia): My question for the panel is, regardless of whether Trump wins or not, has he shown a much smarter autocrat how it’s done? Like, could we have another Hitler or some other horrendous... It doesn’t seem far-fetched to me. I’m worried...
HAMISH MACDONALD, ABC: That’s a pretty extreme comparison to draw.
ELEANORE WELLS: Is it?
HAMISH MACDONALD: Well, Hitler...
ELEANORE WELLS: Is it?
HAMISH MACDONALD: Hitler was responsible for the death of six million Jews.
ELEANORE WELLS: Is it extreme? I don’t think it’s extreme because...
HAMISH MACDONALD: Trump hasn’t done anything like that.
ELEANORE WELLS: Hitler didn’t start out this big. It was a small thing and it grew. So just... Let me finish. So, he... We don’t know at what point in the trajectory it is. But it doesn’t sound far-fetched to me at all.
HAMISH MACDONALD: OK. Cole?
***COLE BROWN: Yeah, I actually... I totally agree. I mean, you know, Hitler obviously has been mentioned as a major and extreme example. But the sort of descent into fascism, the descent into chaos is a gradual one. And in the history of empires, America is not that old. So, I think that this understanding, this sort of belief that the music will keep playing forever and we’ll stay... That’s just not true. I think democracies ultimately decline when they’re not tended to. And...and...what’s happening right now, you’re seeing sort of day in and day out as precedent is violated, Donald Trump sort of dismantling that democracy...
https://www.abc.net.au/qanda/2020-21-09/12671124

***COLE BROWN is a “privileged” 24-year-old Ethiopian-American, who only arrived in Australia this year, but has been adopted by our insane media as a commentator on US politics!

15 Sept: NYT Book review: What It Means to Be the ‘Token’ Black Kid in a Rich, White World
By Michael Pina
GREYBOY: Finding Blackness in a White World by COLE BROWN
For Cole Brown, the 24-year-old author of “Greyboy” — a debut essay collection that reflects his futile quest to pin down questions that won’t sit still — growing up as the rare Black child in a world of white privilege is at once an unavoidable affliction and a golden ticket.

The son of a Fortune 100 executive and grandson of Ethiopia’s first female senator, Brown grew up vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. He belonged to the Philadelphia Cricket Club, took model rocketry courses at summer camp and went to storied private schools. He has access, opportunity and wealth. As an undergraduate finance major at Georgetown, Brown aspired to one day work at Goldman Sachs...

COLE on Antifa vs white nationalist violence - approx 45m to 48m - with push-back from conservative, John Ruddick, but agreement from Hoggard (staffer with Reagan & Geo W Bush) & Morris (ex-BBC), is equally insane, and helped by Wray’s FBI lie:

COLE BROWN: Yeah, I mean, Antifa exists. One, I think to call it a group is probably to give it too much credit. I mean, there’s not clear, sort of, organisation there. But, two, what he often attempts to do is create some degree of parity between it and white nationalist organisations, of which there is none. The extent of violence that white nationalist organisations are responsible for in these places is sort of off the charts as compared to this sort of loose assembly of people.
JOHN RUDDICK: Name one. Name one example of right-wing violence this year...
COLE BROWN: There was a shooting just, like, two weeks ago.
KIM HOGGARD: The FBI, everyone says it.
JOHN RUDDICK: Right-wing people, conservative people are peaceful people. Now, right now...right now, Mitch McConnell’s home is being surrounded by a mob...
JOHN RUDDICK: Give me an example of right-wing violence this year. Give me one example. You can’t.
KIM HOGGARD: Charlottesville, Virginia, to start with.
COLE BROWN: That wasn’t this year. There was one two weeks ago...
KYLIE MORRIS
I’ll do my best. I mean, Kenosha, Wisconsin – I think there is a fairly clear example of someone who came to defend territory and land.
JOHN RUDDICK: No, that person was about to be shot himself. That’s quite...
KYLIE MORRIS: Well, OK. You can frame that, but you wanted an example of violence. There’s an example of violence. Certainly, if you cover these protests, generally, standing back in the corner – this was true for me in Ferguson, this was true for me in Baltimore – up on the roofs, you know, on the awnings, guarding shops, are white vigilantes. So, they are men who’ve turned up, and they’re carrying semiautomatic weapons...
JOHN RUDDICK: They didn’t start the violence, they were reacting to violence...

I used to wonder where Hitler found people willing to kill for him.

First you need to understand the German environment in the period 1918-1930.

You had an attempted Communist revolution in Germany in 1919. You had Germany's Antifa marching through the Streets in the 1920's beating up political opponents. You had the successful Communist revolution in Russia. You had a brief Communist dictatorship in Hungary under Bela Kun.

The German middle class were frightened, and willing to vote for ANYONE who was willing to fight back against the Communists, at a time when Establishment politicians were all about appeasement.

Give Antifa a few more years of running wild, and the US public will be looking for somebody to make it stop.
