I dont mean to alarm the good people of New York, but its important that they understand we are living under a dictatorship with no end in sight.
Whos the autocrat in question? Why, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, of course. Perhaps because his father was governor before him, Cuomo may have grown up thinking of himself as crown prince and now fancies himself a king with unquestioned authority. But the ultimate blame falls squarely on a state Legislature that has now abdicated its duties for the better part of six months.
Back in March, our lawmakers in Albany used a public health statute to hand the governor nearly unchecked power. The idea was that the state executive must have broader-than-usual authority to tackle a crisis. But a supposedly interminable emergency is an invitation to endless abuse of emergency authority.

Saw this guy on tee vee last night.
...take the cannoli.
He will double down on Monday after the President has tested positive
It is, but I do enjoy watching him rip DeBlasio.
I live in South Carolina. There has been moaning and groaning about our governor’s edicts under emergency powers. You would think that candidates for election to our state legislature would have the curbing of the governor’s powers as one of their top campaign issues. Instead you only hear crickets. The people who could take away the governor’s power will not do so simply because they do not want the responsibility of hard decision making.
How can he be stopped?
Is there an impeachment process in NYState?
I once thought that I would move to Florida for 6 months and stay in NY for 6 months. It’s beginning to look like we’ll just move and visit New York on occasion if necessary.
Well, this is a guy who is threatening to send the National Guard to polling places on Election Day but wouldn’t consider this as an option when looters were rummaging through Macys Herald Square.
But he’s really looking to bankrupt the state in hopes he gets a huge revenue flow if Biden wins.....he’s been crying for a bail out all along..
I fully believe the New York City passed laws against Air BnB rentals not just because of complaining neighbors, rent control buildings, and landlords switching to Air BnB rentals instead of renting long term to local denizens, but because many residents would move out of state just long enough to be a resident somewhere else and use the Air BnB option (including their own apartment) to come back into the city for visiting or business.
I think that’s very true. But there’s another factor.
I live in Florida, where our governor recently dissolved all “emergency orders” and left them without effect.
The cities - such as Miami - are keeping their restrictions on anyway. And while they are legally prohibited from collecting fines for violation of their mayors’ mask orders, they have announced they’re going to fine people anyway and collect at a later date.
And I was stunned to see that people and businesses here in Jacksonville, theoretically GOP, actually attacked DeSantis for revoking the order. People seem to love the feeling of fear and restriction. It completely baffles me.
Its past time to pull the dictatorial powers from ALL of these moronic tyrants. They should never have gotten away with assuming and exercising them to begin with.
the state is already bankrupt..
Yes, but he’s going to drive it futher until it he gets a federal rescue.
hes going to drive it further until it he gets a taxpayer rescue, from Biden's MASSIVE tax increases.
Either or all.......Cuomo’s been and remains fixated n obtaining revenue flow at whatever expense - including that of the people in his state.
