Shocking moment staff member at crematorium interrupts the service to shout at man who moved his chair closer to his mother to comfort her at his father's funeral

The shocking moment a member of staff at a crematorium interrupted a funeral in order to berate mourners for being too close together has been caught on camera.

Craig Bicknell, from Milton Keynes, revealed he had moved his chair in order to comfort his mother at the funeral of his father Alan Wright on 2nd October at Crownhill Crematorium, before other mourners followed suit.

But it wasn't long before a member of staff interrupted the service by waving his arms and shouting at the mourners to 'move the chairs back'.

Craig said he and his brother Paul were left devastated by the 'telling off', as they grieved the loss of their father who died from a heart attack in September.

Writing on Facebook he said: 'I can sit in a restaurant, I can sit in a pub, I can live at her house, I can travel in a limousine to the crematorium with 6. But when I want to give my mum a cuddle at dads funeral, a man flies out mid service shouting stop the service and makes us split...A devastating day made even worse.'

A spokesperson for Milton Keynes Council said: 'We are sorry to have upset this family. We don’t usually step in if a guest needs to be comforted by another family member and in this instance should have taken a more considered approach.

Joe Biden would approve, follow the "science". The "science" with which one agrees. Those who don't accept your "science" are murderers.

Some grieving families can go from SAD to MAD very quickly.
The Funeral Director is lucky nobody came after him.

“We are surrounded by weasels who just love any excuse to throw their weight around”.

And they have no compassion or decency or sense of what’s right and wrong or humane. We’re surrounded by them.

I would have punched out that staffer. We just lost my mother-in-law almost two months ago. The funeral house was very accommodating, explaining the Covid-19 rules were forced on them by the county. But they still bent the rules a bit to allow family members for a viewing inside (max of 6 inside, 2 at a time to view). Funeral for others outside under an open tent.

Some people don't realize they're jerks, they need to be smacked in the face to let them know.

I believe it is a long-standing observation of socialist tyrannies that the sheer ARBITRARINESS of the control is pretty much the point. Controlling people through logical persuasion is NOT the goal. Having sensible rules that everyone agrees to is NOT the point. You must have stupid, nonsensical, inconsistent rules which change upon a whim -- if you can get people jumping through ridiculous hoops for you at the drop of a hat, THEN you know that you have control over all of the sheep. And then the few troublemakers can be sent to the gulag without a fuss.

It probably wouldn't take more than two or three funeral directors getting the living crap beat out of them for this nonsense to abruptly stop.

Just sayin'...

Funeral directors had the same attitude at a funeral I attended this year. Everyone wore masks and kept a distance, but the directors didn’t want anyone speaking to the grieving family, either, and they looked angry at us for ignoring that rule.

British.

Love how the article states in the top header ‘Unnamed man moved to give mother cuddle during service after father’s death’ and then proceeds to name him in the article.

There would have been two funerals that day, maybe more if it was my family member.

Apology my ass. The twit is clearly not cut out for that profession and should be given the sack.
