Laws he and his legislature passed protecting him from his decisions hopefully will not be there when he leaves office and waiting in the wings are all the families of those elderly that he murdered ready to bring charges against him. Fingers crossed.

i’m in western rural NY. he’s generally despised. I was visiting fam on LI last month. They think he’s doing a great job. one relative e - a very intelligent woman - actually said ‘ imagine how bad it would have been if it wasn’t for him. he’d be easily re-elected if he was running next month. i’m thinking of moving to South Dakota

Now I see overnight, De Blasio is cracking down on the Orthodox Jews. I could be mistaken (I have no clue of NY political dynamics) but I think they’re generally Democrats?

I couldn't tell you. Perhaps someone on FR who lives in New York City can weigh in.
There are at least 3 different types of ‘Othodox’ Jews. The largest is Modern Orthodox, who are mostly, but definitely not all, support national Dems and show plenty of TDS.
There are also haredi or yeshivish Orthodox, who are actually conservative and vote Republican for President. Then there are hasidic Jews, very conservative and Republican. But both of the more conservative groups will compromise locally with Dems as a way to provide some protection for their communities.
