Why doesn’t the President set up a “court of determination”, of which he is the chief judge, and have the CIA, FBI, etc., come before him with the classified docs and explain to him why they should be redacted at all (show cause, in other words, and justification). He is going to live with the consequences anyway.
Perhaps because most of the classification is due to illegal procedures and protects the culprits more than National Security - and keeping it secret means the people won’t really know the truth about the Deep State.
