Compare a states result to Sweden, such as Louisiana.
Sweden, with a population of 10 million, had 94,000 cases and 5900 deaths.
Louisiana, with a population of 4.6 million, had 169,000 cases and 5600 deaths - with intense and current lockdowns.
What would have been the outcome for Louisiana if they remained open? Would they have had that second spike or would the herd immunity have protected them more?
Since we know that the disease is deadly only to those with compromised health conditions, it would seem that herd immunity is the better policy.
Told ‘ya. I proposed this approach a couple of months ago on a popular social media site where I was severely criticised for a lack of compassion and understanding.
