Cruz on Trump Not Wanting Virtual Debate: ‘I Think the President’s Right on This’
Breitbart ^ | October 07 2020 | TRENT BAKER

SNIP

I think the president’s right on this, and unfortunately, I think this is a pattern we’ve seen play out throughout the debates, where the moderators and the debate commission have behaved like arms of the Joe Biden campaign,” Cruz explained. “I think at the first debate … Chris Wallace did a terrible job moderating. Last night, I think Susan Page did a better job moderating. She didn’t interrupt as much but her questions were still, you know, it’s an interesting hypothetical to go back and look at the questions she asked, and ask how would the questions have read differently had they been written by the Joe Biden campaign? And that virtually every question out of her mouth was from the left, with all of the assumptions Joe Biden and the Democrats believe. There was really very little pushing on the other side.”

“This decision here to hold a virtual debate, that benefits Joe Biden, that lets his staff be in the room, that lets him receive assistance,” he added. “One of the real concerns a lot of people have is if Joe Biden is even up to it and if you insulate him and let him do the debate from the basement, that’s eliminating the debate aspect of it, and listen, I think the reason the commission did this is the Democrats right now think they’re winning. They believe Joe Biden’s winning. I think they’re very happy for Joe not to leave his basement for another minute between now and Election Day, and if the commission sticks to we’re going to do it virtually, I think the president is right to say I’m not going to participate in this charade.”

Its long past time for the GOP to totally boycott the so called debate commission. They are nothing but the propaganda, disinformation and dirty tricks department of the Democratic Party. President Trump is the biggest ratings magnet in politics on the planet. He don't need no steeenking debate commision to get his message out.

Seems to me that Cruz has acted honorably since dropping out of the primary.

I think he is already running for 2024. He's been really out there punching the Dems hard lately.

I disagree. It will be used to say Trump is to sick, and trigger the 25th amendment.

Trump is acting like a toddler, and it will kill him eventually. I just hope it doesn’t kill us

Yeah, Pence hasn’t really emerged as a charismatic figure.

Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have been Trump’s strongest allies in the senate I think

A virtual debate, would be the equivalent of an ‘open book’ test (like in schools), where the answers to the questions could be obtained ahead of time, and easily looked up ahead of time, with the book of answers being the internet and/or Joe’s campaign staff, with the answers copied to Joe’s teleprompter ready for him to read from.

IOW, it’s a cheater’s best method for debating.

Trump could use that same method to have answers readily available, but, he’s already said he’s not doing the virtual type of debating. Joe and his campaign staff, and his media buddies, are all ready for Joe to do that kind of debate.

Did anyone see Ainsley cut off Cruz when he said Wallace did a terrible job? She shut him down and said Chris Wallace is their friend. So Ainsley, you stab your fans in the back to defend Wallace?

One by one FOX is cutting the ties to f affection and trust of their fans.

I'd like to opine on the question of the type of questions. The moderators from the mainstream media and associated outlets have their own world view. They ask questions based on that world view.

The debate commission does not select moderators for their impartiality. I'm not sure what criterion they do use, but I suspect they try for people as moderators who appear to the country to be well-educated on the facts.

So, the pool of potential moderators tends to be well to the left. No government person in their right mind would even consider Rush Limbaugh for the job, for example.

Trump can’t win with the media no matter what he says or does. That we all know.

If he debates virtually, I’m sure they have all kinds of things that they can do to make him look really bad, and the campaign has discussed that thoroughly. There is a reason they don’t want to do this. My guess is they will do everything they can to muzzle him with the extra control they will have, plus they will make a HUGE deal about him being too “diseased” to debate in person.

I hear him say this on FOX and Friends this morning. Then that Ainsley gal had to interrupt and defend Chrissy Wallace because he's part of the FOX family?! This Ainsley gal was the same one all upset that as a DIVORCED SINGLE MOM she couldn't get assistance for her Au Pair to stay in the country illegally.

I’d like to see a Denesh De Souza produced infomercial about the history of Kamala and Biden played on a loop before Trump Rallies.

When I was a kid, my friend Jimmy told me he could jump over his house.

Turns out he couldn’t do it.

He just said he could.

President Trump is a professional builder.

He knows how to plan, organize, lead and coordinate.

Joe Biden is a professional talker.

He knows how to tell you stories about Shoe Leather and Cornpop.

Which one should be President of our country?

Pence did great at the debate last night. He will be a formidable opponent if he runs in 2024.

The big part is proving that he’s safe once he’s recovered from COVID-19. It will embolden more people to ask for easing up.
