Exactly. The debates should have been in early-to-mid September to be effective.
The debates are really designed to sway the non-political people who don’t want to pay attention until the vote is only a few weeks away and then they want to get all the information they need about the candidates with as little investment of time as possible. Those people wouldn’t watch a debate in September.
