Allegations Maine Democrat Sara Gideon Covered for Male Teacher Accused of Sexual Relations with Female Students Rattle Her Campaign
Breitbart ^ | October 8 2020 | ASHLEY OLIVER

Maine’s Democrat Senate candidate, Sara Gideon, is downplaying her awareness about sexual misconduct allegations leveled against a former state representative and teacher from two years ago.

Gideon, who has served as Maine’s House speaker since 2016, was reportedly aware of sexual misconduct allegations against former state Rep. Dillon Bates (D-Westbrook) but chose to conduct business as usual with Bates “for several months” until the allegations were made public in August 2018.

Gideon also at one point in June 2018 invited Bates to perform the national anthem before the state legislature, while aware of the allegations against him, according to a video released Wednesday by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC):

CHILLING NEW VIDEO: @SaraGideon knew her colleague Dillon Bates had been accused of preying on high school girls.

But she invited him to sing to the state legislature anyway, then applauded him. #MESen #mepolitics pic.twitter.com/xRQZAr8u4F

So after the Dem US Senate candidate in North Carolina was rocked by a nasty sesx scandal that led to him droping in the polls to the GOP's Thom Tillis, Susan Collins (who has staged a remarkable reovery in the polls recently) gets lucky too with a sex scandal hitting her (female) Dem opponet in Maine, Sara Gideon. What are the odds of that? Two can play at the October surprise game. Glad the Republicans have finally learned to play hardball.

I have had to get used to disappointment.

During the heady years of Newt Gingrich’s time in the House of Representatives hope for an aggressive Republican counter to the Democrat’s relentless push toward socialism seemed real.

But, it was over all too soon and the Democrats became rabidly more socialist than ever before.

I am not saying give up but I am saying Republicans are naturally more reserved than the Democrats and you have to work in the local and state government level of the party to push forward the more aggressively conservative members of the party to ensure that we get new candidates to enter the national level.

Now they need to catch Mark Kelly (AZ) in bed with a dead girl or a live boy and the GOP might have a shot at holding the Senate.

Yes.
But then there is no way Tillis didn't know of the sexual escapades of his opponent beforehand. He just bided his time and then struck at just the right time in October, so the Dems couldn't switch candidates or have enough time to recover from the scandal.
The timing is just exquisite.

Absolutely agree with your assessment...And not unhappy for any political trouble that might come Gideon’s way, bringing help to Collins...With all of her moderate machinations, Collins is the best Maine can do for Trump, for now.

To me, a Republican who votes with President Trump 90% of the time is better than a Democrat who won’t vote for President Trump EVER! Susan Collins is in that category!

This Sara Gideon will probably win on her looks over Collins. She’s easier on the eyes than Susan. And she probably doesn’t have the shaky voice thing either. I don’t want a Rat to win Maine but I never could stand Collins.

Allegations are neither indictment nor conviction. Unless there is proof of criminality such as video, prior to conviction, this really is a non-starter.

That sums up my feelings on Collins...Wish Maine could do better, but they could do worse on Nov. 3...

Rattle[s] Her Campaign

What should be rattling is the jailers keys as he locks the cell behind her. Is there no politician who isn't a stinking mass of corruption?

True that. Add the fact that we have some leverage to influence Collins’ actions, limited though it may be—it was a sufficient force to save Kavanagh’s confirmation. We would have absolutely no leverage with Gideon.

Simple truth...

If the left can’t take our Collins... someone who they have targeted since the Kavanaugh vote with millions upon millions of outside Dollars and outside volunteers pounding the state to take her out...

Does anyone really think Trump is in trouble?!?

Collins should be toast, if the left was remotely on the rise. She should be toast... if she wins, it will be a very good night for R’s up and down the ballot across the country.

There is another possibility besides R learning to play hardball.

Sometimes God decides to remind people who is really in charge around here.

I wish Maine didn’t have rank voting. I believe the republican Governor won the election until they counted ranked number 2 person and the democrat won. I can easily see that happening again.

First Cunningham’s sexting and now this.

It seems God is going to play the final hand in this outcome.
