It is also scary that it sounds like the ambulance was going to take her to the hospital AGAINST HER WILL! Either go with them or DIE because we refuse to give you the meds you need. She needs to get a nebulizer machine and meds to keep at home.
I spent 25 years taking rides to the hospital in the back of rescue units and ambulances assisting sick people. Doctors offices routinely call 911 for anyone with priority symptoms meaning difficulty breathing or chest pain. We even got calls to “transport” patients from one part of a hospital to another part. We would show up and wheel them from the doctors office at the hospital to the emergency room... it was unbelievable but protocol at two of the hospitals in our city.
We administered albuterol and other meds routinely in the back of the rigs. We typically used an oxygen tank and the appropriate disposable mask. Of course a “nebulizer machine” is cheaper than an Oxygen tank and regulator. They are literally about $50 on Amazon.
Neither the doctor or ambulance can force you to go to the hospital or anything else against your will as long as you are alert and oriented and not threatening to harm yourself. If you ever have them trying to force you into anything that does not seem legit, just simply ask “are you kidnapping me?”
