asking a judge to recuse themselves without a legitimate reason is the same as forum shopping, manipulating the voting members on a court to be more favorable to your case.

Try telling that to Sandra Day O’Connor, the wise latina, Elena Kagan (or David Souter O YES HE DID!)

The Dem echo chamber, one after another, keeps asking Barrett to give an opinion on hypothetical cases, which she continues to refuse to do.
..........
It is show boating, nothing more, wasting everyone’s time. While then the Dems complain that they should be working on Covid relief instead of confirmation.

I just hope she as conservative as Ginsburg was liberal.

"For me to promise to recuse myself now would be unethical. Given the doctrine of stare decisis, I would think that strategically any challenges to election results would have other bases than anything directly related to Bush v Gore . If the matter at hand were to involve Bush v Gore directly, yes, I might likely find the need to recuse myself, but then, it would be all the more difficult to overturn Bush v Gore short a justice.

And she damn well shouldn’t. When I see Lefists recusing themselves from ANYTHING (with only one rare exception) I will open one ear.
Otherwise and forever, pound sand.

Its absolutely ridiculous!
Shes going to be hired for a job BEFORE an election...
The Dems are THREATENING legal trouble already - well before said election...
And they want her to promise to NOT do her job when that happens?!?!?
Anyone would be INSANE to accept these demands.

She’d better not commit to recusing.
We don’t need Amy Coney Sessions on SCOTUS.

No judge would, or should, commit to recusing themselves in advance from judging on any particular case - let alone a theoretical case. This question (or demand, as the case may be) is about as stupid as saying that nominating and confirming ACB is unconstitutional, or that the Republicans are “packing the Court” by filling seat #9 - which is to say, it is world-class stupid.
