Once again it appears there are conflicting facts, data and plenty of opinions about the efficacy of wearing masks to prevent contracting the Coronavirus.
In addition to causing maskne and skin infections on the face and around the mouth, persistent coughing, mask mouth, and respiratory illnesses including lung infections, it turns out that most everyone infected with COVID-19 always wore masks, according to a newly published study by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The study found 74.2% reported wearing masks always while 14.5% worse masks often.
It is difficult not to conclude that wearing non-surgical cloth face masks or face coverings does little to prevent contracting the coronavirus.

Ping.
And...here it is.
...so are those that mandated the wearing of masks looking at the business end of a lawsuit???
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Thanks very much for posting.
I’m not arguing for masks, but what does it even mean to say you “always” wore masks? No one “always” wears masks. People eat, take showers, etc. I know a few people who have had covid-19, and most of them have contracted it from another family member living in their household. So when people say they “always” wear masks, do they mean even inside their own home around their own family members? Because I’m skeptical that there’s much “at home” mask wearing.
“In the 14 days before illness onset, 71% of case-patients and 74% of control-participants reported always using cloth face coverings or other mask types when in public.”
Who knew?
Ive always suspected that masks increase your chance of infection. They just trap in the bacteria.
Read the article ...?
So the point of the article is to evoke navel gazing over the meaning of always? Very insightful, I missed that.
Our family wore masks and we all got it
LOL. Sure thing.
And when I was working in the ER 100 % of people who were injured in car crashes swore they were wearing their seatbelts.
People lie .
We know you do.
Seat belts and masks are now the same thing?
Kojak, you're a pip.
“100 % of people who were injured in car crashes swore they were wearing their seatbelts. People lie .”
Except that the non-mask wearers I know (including me) would NOT lie and say they WERE wearing a mask. We have too much pride to lump ourselves with the weirdos. I would be ashamed to say I had worn a mask except if I were under extreme duress.
Luckily for him, the person who got broadsided as he drove my car out of a parking lot, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Otherwise he would have died instantly, instead of being thrown into the passenger seat.
You go ahead and wear your mask, and I will continue to not wear one, and be honest about not wearing it.
It would be informative if the “always” was intended to say “always when in public.”
I see plenty of people driving in cars alone wearing masks. I even see people biking, walking and joggling alone and wearing a mask. If they are doing that maybe they also wear them at home. That’s no were near a significant percentage.
I just had a picture of Steve Martin in The jerk, working at the service station when the sniper is puncturing the oil cans with rifle rounds: “these cans are defective”!
53% of people who died in car wrecks wore seatbelts. Must be the seatbelts.
