Every single person in that room he spoke in likely agreed with him 100%, even if they weren’t as stupid as he was and won’t come out and say it.

He sits on the Executive Committee of the Democratic Party of Colorado.

He's on a large number of other important political committees.

He wields considerable political power in the state party heirachy.

Suspending an employee with pay pending investigation is a way to get them to peacefully leave the property by giving them a glimmer of hope that they will be able to return. Once they are off the premises they can be fired via email or phone.

If you had an employee who made these kinds of threats it's worth a day's pay to get them safely out the door.

I sit on a GOP committee for CD-4, so I know how low the positions is for Dems, especially since GOP Ken Buck currently holds that office.
